Very good btw, very thorough shoots. Only downside is her first language isnt english, and at some points I feel the explanation of what she is doing could be a bit more thorough. Worth a buy tho!

Thank you so much for posting this. It was an excellent head's up that the DVD is back in stock. I've been waiting since it first came out... because it sold out so fast. I just placed my order, so hopefully I'm in before they sell out again.

lol i just assumed you already did , it's not often I get a scoop on the Krootster!

been out for 2 months, but they re-released it as a digital download. I think the downloads are high-res and the dvd's are standard def, so think carefully!

I haven't watched them all yet, but it is pretty good stuff, on par with Miniature Mentor vids.

I think we all know what the merchandising department was thinking with this one.

Good call!

Digital download maybe cool. Have to check it out.

I bought it last week. She's an awesome painter, but her style is just too much for me. In other tutorials I've seen, the painters are more structured applying the layers of paint. Looks like if Natalya would mix the colours directly on the mini. I've seen twice the parts of the dwarf skin and female barbarian skin, and I still don't know how she manages to match the colours again when she goes from one limb to another. Awesome. But I would say other tutorials are a bit easier to follow (basecoat: this colour, first light: this mix, first shadow: this mix, second light: this mix...).

She's truly an artist.

The GW ones are not bad for a start. On this page you find 5 other ones: http://www.shop.battlefield-berlin.de/index.php/katalog/showarticles/10700-1-malanleitungen.html
The best and most detailed book on painting miniatures is a French one in French language, but I have to look up the title when I am back home.

i watched the preview and it looks like she uses oil paints. It would explain the glass (?) palatt she uses (can scrape off the dry paint with a scraper blade). If so, not too good for me. I use acrylics.

It aslo seems like oils because she has very little paint on the glass and mixes colours as she go's. Acrylic dries way too quick to do this.

Wouldnt mind watching it though.

meh, saw this two months ago and didn't both posting it because frankly it is a pathetic attempt to use a large pair of breasts to get me to buy something. She ought to be thanked by women for just lowering the glass ceiling that little bit more. Way to go to get people to ignore your talent with a brush. Pathetic.

I've seen this one, Hot Lead and some from Miniature Mentors. I would say that Miniature Mentors explain better each step, although each miniature mentors tutorial covers less stuff, they are a bir specific. But I think they are worthy. Hot Lead is quite good too. I'm not a fan of the painting style of the artist, but the explanations are great, and it covers almost everything. Very good for the price.

But we can find in youtube Lbursley's tutorials too. They are not as comprehensive as this ones, but they are great for a very high tabletop standard and maybe more important, free!

She uses acrylics, and says the names while she is painting. Some of them are Citadel, some are Vallejo, and I think she also uses PPP and Reaper. She might be using some flow aid or that kind of products to delay the drying time (Hot Lead DVD has a brief explanation about this products and what they do).

MajorTom11 wrote:I recommend miniature mentor, thoroughly commentated and clear pics.

Probably their "Complete Guide" would be the best 1st buy. I like a lot the layering used in that video.

Edit: don't get me wrong guys, I'm glad with Natalya's DVD. I have the Monochrome tutorial by Jennifer Hayley for Miniature Mentors and it's ace too. Both make me think the same. Women and men painting style are completely different (about paint thinning, technique and so). They do beatiful things by instinct, we need more layered tutorials

Absolutely. Best book by far on painting I have seen. As said 288 full colour pages with Codex size pages. Very practical oriented. Pages on painting wood, metal (NMM and with metallics), Dark Elf skin, rust (iron, bronce), transparent clothing, lighting. And acrylics only.

Haven't seen any DVD yet, so I don't know what is covered there. And I am certain that there is only a French version.

I speak enough French to be able to understand what is written there, but it is far from perfect. Only looking at the pics wouldn't do though. But in your case: How close to Spanish is French, both are Latin languages after all.
