If he's insane i'd be more scared than if he was sane. At least sane you could guess at what he's going to do whereas insane... no chance.

What exactly is the source for this?

According to the information given in 'The Cripple and the Dragon' it is the Dragon who is the most powerful C'tan so where does this idea that the Outsider is the most powerful come from, is this from an offcial Games Workshop source or just fan speculation?

As for the events in Mechanicum whilst everything points to the Dragon being bound within the Noctis Labyrinthus it is unclear if the vision of what is presumed to be the Emperor defeating a dragon is a literal or allegorical representation.

I would guess though that Outsider is more powerful since he ate so many C'tan.

Doesn't it take an entire Dyson Sphere to contain him? I mean, an entire Tyranid hive fleet avoided this guy. He's got to be pretty powerful.

Who said the emperor needs a ship?

I'd expect a god to be able to teleport or something.

...urrrr... I dunno

He's no god, though. Super-powerful megapsyker, but not a god.
Still, it doesn't rule out the possibility of teleporting.

As I say, the most detailed background we have for the Dragon names it the most powerful of the C'tan.

The Outsider is also detailed in that same background, where it was tricked into consuming other C'tan by the Laughing God. It would seem that the Outsider had a particular hatred for the Laughing God and was determined to destroy him but every time it tried it was yet another C'tan that the Outsider had consumed.

Other than various individuals on the forums reckoning the Outsider must be quite powerful is there actually any real statement in the background to that effect or is this just another case of incorrect fan theory?

I heard the Deciver tricked the Outsider into building the Dyson Sphere with himself inside it... or was that some other C'tan?

So he's a superpowerful megapsyker that is capable of destroying a c'tan stargod.

I think he's a god.

No, it's a paradoxical allegory. He's actually quite serious.

From what I've read via codexes the eldar laughing god and the deceiver are two seperate entities but very similar. For instance the laughing god often plays tricks on Slaanesh. This would suggets that the laughing god is a warp entity as it can apparently go to the places that slaanesh (a warp entity) can go. The deceiver however is a C'tan and consequently cannot comprehend the warp/ exist in it. This to me suggests that the beings are two entities. Another little giveaway for me is the fact that some Harlequins (who are servants of the laughing god) possess psychic ability which C'tan generally despise (hence their reason for creating pariahs who are designed to repel psykers). Food for thought

Cegorach is in no way Tzeentch or the Deceiver, seriously who would even suggest that...

Although, when you think about, Tzeentch, the deceiver and laughing god must have a hell of a time out smarting each other.

While they aren't the same being they (at least the deciever and the laughing god) have been known to imitate the other in order to sow chaos.

Perhaps a greater daemon of Tzeench could get in on the action? Last part is pure speculation on my part however.

the Dyson Sphere, IIRC, is something akin to an Infinity Matrix. it basically traps an object outside of space and time. it is possably somekind of Warp trap, something even a C'tan can't escape from.

inside the prisoner is trapped in a labrinth. the aeons the Outsider has been trapped have snapped his mind. This is why he is insane.
