I'm starting a spacemarine army and so far i'm getting:
Valkan He'stan
5x space marines tactical squad
5x scout squad - heavy bolter (hell fire shells with telions)
1x venerable dreadnought 2x (auto cannons)
1x ironclad dreadnought with 2 heavy flamers and a seismic hammer
1x land raider redeemer (burny one)
1x drop pod
My main tactic is to sit at the back with the scouts and marines with the venerable dreadnought and drop the ironclad at the start with the drop pod in the center of there squads and have Valkan He'stan run in by himself (i'm get salamanders )
Any problems with this tactic and is there anything i should change?

You are getting 5 tactical squads D:
and 5 scout squads?
Get some devastor squads so you can give your tactical squads some variety in weaponry.

Hmmm... I'd say you should get some Terminators. You are lacking a bit of Close Combat "punch" if you'll forgive the expression.

I would more than 2 troop choices. Like 4 1 scout 4 tactical, and then one sniper squad.
That way you can deploy units behind enemy lines.
Also. Buy the devastator squad and a terminator squad.
I highly recommend it.

so i do have some room for other things
but i need the tactical marines goes you need 2 troop choices:(

yeah i know. Buy a battle force.
1 tactical, 1 combat, 1 scout squad, 1 assualt squad, 1 rhino.
That way you have 400 points. And 3 troop choices.
You need more troop choices. You need 4 as a minimum as capture objective games you would get owned.

Well i would give it a 5 out of 10
Heres why.
One thing Vulkan should not go by himself. Or else he will die.
And never sit back and wait that only works with tau.
I suggest that you have fast squads that get to objectives and attack enemies quickly and get out.
Also I suggest you get some vechiles.
And I highly support going salamanders!

But reading about Valkan he sounds pretty awesomes......
but i may ditch the venerable and get a termy squad
What do you think of the redeemer? i'm thinking of putting Valkan in with the termys? or should i ditch that?

Oh yeah, I misunderstood. I thought you were gettin 5X Tactical Marine Squads.

Nah thats fine. Redeemer is good. As it rarely blows up. But it is a huge target. I would run them up against big mobs of enemies. It really matters on who you are fighting.
