Does anyone know the White Dwarf number when the Culexus Assassin first appeared? I can't find it & I can't remember when it was first released - and not even the Internet gives me a clear answer as I can't trust it based on the references given for the other Temples (all from 3rd Ed and not the original White Dwarfs). Anyone

I'm writing a Witch Hunters fan-dex and seek the original background. I have it all for the other 3 current Temples (189,190,191) It's not in 192 and so on...it's not before 204 as a FAQ in it only refers to the three just mentioned and I can't find it in the WD's from around 3rd Ed...I am missing some...or I could just be having a really special moment

Think I can help you out with this. He appeared in Codex Assassins which came in White Dwarf 235.

Cant wait till they revamp the Assassins for the 5th ed game.

do you have codex assassins dude? Im not sure if the culexus actually DID appear in a stand alone issue of WD, ive been thinking about it since our phone convo and dont recall it ever being featured outside of the assassins codex....but you know my memory...!

That was the 3rd ed version. The Culexis's first appearance was in the 2nd edition Codex: Assassins, a few years earlier than that.

The 2nd ed codex has more background material. The 3rd ed version was stripped down to pretty much just the rules.

The cat beat me to it.

The first 3 assassins appeared in WD but the Culexis only appeared in the 2nd edition Codex:Assassins which was something like $10 for 16 pages so I never bought it. It was the last or next-to last publication for 2nd edition.

Once 3rd hit it showed up in the back of the 3rd edition rules and then in the free assassins codex that came with a WD issue.

Don't know if it had much info on the Culexus the earliest WD reference specific to Culexus I can find is issue 216.
