Hey
So played a game against a friend with a 1000P army of proxied (that what you call it?) Deathwing. I myself played my largely unpainted IG, so the pictures won't be that much of a help...
We played an objective game with three objectives and the following army lists:

Belial, claws

Ezekiel

5 Deathwing-Terminators
Power-fists and storm bolters
1 assault cannon

5 Deathwing-Terminators
2 claws
3 hammers
Cyclon rockets

5 Deathwing-Terminators
Heavy flamer
2hammers
2 claws

Dark Angels : 1000

My list:
CCS
2 flamers
Commander with power sword

Infantry platoon
PCS
1x power sword
2x flamers

30 man blob
3 power weapon sergs
1 commissar with power sword
2 autocannons

Alrahem
2x melter

20 man blob
1 flamer
2 sergs with power swords
1 commissar with power sword
Infanteriezug

Manticore
Leman Russ demolisher

Dark Angels go first, but don't deploy anything.
The IG fails to seize the initiative.
The IG deployment sees the 30-man blob occupy the entire left and central part of the deploy zone and the objective, while the demolisher, the Manticore, the PCS and the CCS go on the right.

DA Turn 1:
Nothing, no unit enters the game.

IG Turn 1:
The PCS receives a "Move move move!" from the CCS and sprints toward the central objective. The CCS follows closely.
The rest of the army holds its ground.

DA Turn 2:
After the reserve rolls only Ezekiel and his flamer squad are ready to deploy.
This squad promptly deep strikes in front of the blob and only scatters an inch away from it. They immediately light their heavy flamer, killing four guardsmen and Ezekiel kills another four by releasing his Hellfire (only adds up to s3 ds4 though).

IG: Turn 2:
Al'Rahem and the second platoon enter from the left side and secure the Dark Angel's objective. Furthermore, the PCS and CCS move towards the terminators.
Shooting sees the flamers on the CCS kill one terminator, the blob squad kills two terminators and takes two wounds of Ezekiel with FRFSRF and some Auto cannons and the Manticore kills the other two terminators with a volley of three rockets which all hit more or less. After all shooting is done, Ezekiel stands alone with a single wound, and even though he and his squad survived some pretty nasty stuff (Demolisher cannon and two of the three Manticore blasts didn't wound anybody, partly thanks to Ezekiel's Force Barrier.

DA Turn 3:
Finally the rest of the reserves arrive! Belial deep strikes right next to Al'Rahem and the Assault cannon squad lands spot on next to the center objective.
Ezekiel, furious about his squad being massacred, charges the blob squad. And this, dear readers, is the point where Ezekiel proves his worth! Many of you might dislike him but here he just owned. He places the Hellfire template covering a large number of guardsmen and the side of the Manticore. He then makes his template s9 ds2 and owns all of them... in the DA players dreams... Yeah Ezekiel fails his psytest (MW 10!!!) and doesn't do sh*t^^
The AC Terminators only kill a lousy 4 guardsmen and Belial's squads Cyclone launcher immobilizes the Manticore... great^^
In Close Combat, Ezekiel kills another two guardsmen before getting stabbed in the eye with a bayonet... someone's getting a promotion xP

IG Turn 3:
Everything shoots! The 30 man blob FRFSRF's the Tactical Termies with the help of the CCS flamers and the Manticore, reducing the squad to the AC bearer. Al'Rahem's squad and the second platoon only manage to put one wound on Belial and kill a lightning claw Termie, while the Demolisher Cannon scatters onto the PCS, totally obliterating it!

DA Turn 4:
Now it's time for the Dark Angels to get some revenge and make up for, well, being rather useless to put it nice *muahaha* ))
Sooo the AC Termie charges the CCS and Belial charges the second platoon blob squad.
The lone AC Termie whoops the CCS's butt all over the place and kills two of them, sending the rest of running. (Guess the plan of keeping him in combat near to the center objective didn't work^^)
Meanwhile, Belial and his squad do to guardsmen what McDonalds does to beef and turn ten guardsmen into Hamburgers. The Commissar however isn't so happy with the result of the battle and tells the men to stick around for more melee fun.

IG Turn 4:
The CCS, which is seriously only half an inch away from the end of the field decides to man up and get back into the fight, moving towards the centre objective. Al'Rahem chooses running over joining the fight against Belial and secures the center objective.
In shooting, the 30 man blob owns the lone Termie with lasgunfire while the rest of the troops pretty much sit around and wait for Belial to finish fighting.
In order to make this happen faster, the second platoon fights like a bunch of drunk people and pretty much get slaughtered, leaving only the black Sergeant and the Commissar in the fight.

DA Turn 5:
No matter how heroic the two surviving combatants are, Belial doesn't spare anyone and finishes off the second platoon. He then uses his victory movement to move towards the center objective, since the only other option would be securing their own objective and leaving both the IG objective and the center objective to the Guard.

IG Turn 5:
Al'Rahem sees an opportunity to earn some glory and fires all of his squads’ meltas on Belial but fails to even scratch them, while the combined power of the CCS'S flamers and the 30 man blob squad annihilates Belial and his squad, assuring victory for the Imperial Guard!

Conclusion: The game wasn’t very serious, the DA tactic (if you can call that a tactic mate ) didn’t really work out, the lists weren’t thought through that well and the decisions we took weren’t always the smartest, but the game sure as hell was fun!

Giving away some awards:
Rock n’ Roll (for the unit that caused the most havoc): I have to go with the 30 man blob, because they killed Termies in the dozen with their cheap lasguns without complaining about any casualties. + I decided to make an African American (black okay?) soldier with gold chains, since when ever I rolled to hit/kill with the 30 man blob, my black dice pretty much ALWAYS hit and killed The soldier we named “Blacky” is an honour to the entire regiment!

Bad day (for being a disappointment) : Sorry Ezekiel but this one goes to you (surprise surprise). We do love you Ezekiel and we have to respect that in a passed mini-game you fried a Cybot and half a tactical Squad with your S9 ds2 Hellfire, but this game was rather embarrassing^^

Sorry, my bad! (for helping the other side more than the own) : Well this goes to the demolisher, who didn’t really kill lots of Termies, but wiped out the PCS with one shot xP

Meat grinder (Best Close combat) : I’d like to give it to my Sergeant and Commissar for being epic, but since they didn’t even hurt anybody, this award goes to Belial and his squad for whooping ass, even if just guardsmen ass…

Hope you enjoyed this rather unprofessional battle report

Nice to see things working out for you. The only MAJOR error was shooting ezekiel with a power blob. You can't use shooting psychic powers when you're locked up in close combat, which meant that uber flamer wouldn't have gotten off if you had charged instead of FRFSRF. The whole point of that order with power blobs is for those rare circumstances when you get in really close to your opponent, but would rather shoot them with lasguns than charge in with power weapons (so far, the only two things I've come across are wyches and howling banshees). Yeah, the lasguns killed stuff, but failing to snare him in close combat more than outweighed any extra lasgun kills you would have gotten over bayonets.

I feel kind of sorry for your opponent, what with taking 2 space marine special characters at 1000 points (instead of zero, which would have allowed him to take another termie squad). Thankflully, you got to see how power blobs can trap and grind special characters.

Nice job on the victory. I look forward to seeing the pictures soon.

Lol. I like the space marine ultra awesome special character of doom in the "No, wait! Don't shoot me!" pose.

Ezekiel can't Deep Strike. He has no terminator armor or anything that allows that.

Still, it didn't seem to help much. Dark Angels are pretty gimped and Deathwing is tough to play with, especially at lower point levels.

Hey
so as you can see I finaly uploaded the pictures... yeah nothing special there, mainly cause we didn't have a DA army, half of my army was missing and most of the stuff wasn't painted. However, I like my Ezekiel model, he just needs to be finished and painted^^
@ Ailaros
I don't think shooting Ezekiel was a mistake. In the end, it allowed me to shoot his squad with all the other units, hold my objective and avoid being owned in CC by Terminators! Even though I agree I shouldn't get used to FRFSRF killing everything, I think here it was a good idea.
EDIT: Loool! Just got what you meant by the "don't shoot me" pose^^ He was supposed to look like he was casting something but it does look like he's a wimp xD

Yeah my friend's list wasn't the smartest but in the end he liked playing it and he was fun to play against, even though we thought that in this case, not deep striking might even have been more useful, because this way I just got to pick out his squads one at a time. Even though a victory would still have been hard, I think that way he could have achieved a draw.

@ JGrand
Makes sense...
Yeah the 1000P limit really wasn't in favor of the Deathwing. I'll try to actualy finish more (or at least some) IG models and tell my friend to get an army of his own so we don't always have to use my Chaos as proxy units!^^

Ps: Ailaros, I tried to imitate the way you marked troops in your reviews but as you can see, the writing is way to small xD... I might fix that in the next review, providing I do one

It's a bit difficult to judge on all of this without proper pictures, of course, but a few things.

- charging in with one unit would not have prevented you from shooting another unit with 12" FRF.
- a 30-man power blob can take down 5 terminators in close combat, no problem.
- it doesn't matter if you hold even ANY of the objectives in the middle of the game. It only matters who has control of them at the end.

The problem with the above pictures and the text on them is that the compression is too high on the .jpg format. If you're saving things in MSPaint, for example, you don't even have the option of setting your jpg compression level. A terrible, though free, graphics editing program is called the gimp which is what I use to edit my pictures when I'm at work and don't have access to photoshop. When you save a jpg in the gimp, one of the advanced options is to change the "subsampling" from whatever attrocious default it has to 1x1x1, which prevents things like text from getting compressed into the picture (or compression anywhere else on the picture, for that matter).
