Would the Navy blue primer from Army Painter work for the Crimson Fists?

It looks pretty close, from what I can see. Hard to tell from that little dot. The description says it's good for Ultramarines, though.

Did you look at the examples that army painter have on their website?

Maybe if you dipped as they have with the Dark Tone quick shade, you would get a suitable colour.

I personally use Regal Blue on my guys, and Necron Abyss on my custom Sternguard, to make them stand out more.

Army Painter's Navy Blue is much lighter than Regal Blue, so be prepared to explain (again and again) that you're a Crimson Fist and not an Ultramarine if you go that route...

id go regal blue as a basecoat. then a mix of regal blue and ultra blue for raised areas and places light is falling and the edges. then final id do a mix of regal blue and ice blue for a final highlight

That's pretty much what I do, except I go up to straight Ice Blue for the final highlight and chuck in a wash or 2 of Asurmen Blue along the way...

Thanks to modern chemistry, sleep is now optional

I paint mine witg necron abyss, then wash with asurmen blue. Then an enchanted blue drybrushing and another blue wash...THEN a very light drybrush of ice blue and a final blue wash...
