I have read the rule again and I find myself wondering how many times at my LGS it has been done incorrectly, I want to make sure I am reading it correct first however. It says you get FNP from an unsaved wound, so does this mean if you have an armor save of 5 and are hit by a bolter you would get no FNP correct because you couldnt take your normal save? Am I reading that right?

This search took me less than 1 minute. I searched on FNP and AP.

The armor part is only for weapons that completely ignore armor saves. Poor armor does not count (such as 5+ armor). So what happens is that anything that denies an armor save absolutely ignores the FNP rule- such as power weapons, power fists, abilities that ignor armor, AP 1 and AP 2 weapons. It's not "a weapon that ignores armor saves of 5+," it is "a weapon that ignores armor saves" period.

how is that not an unsaved wound? just because you didn't get to make a save roll doen't make a difference its still unsaved.

your five marines shoot my 10 guards with a medic (FNP), you get 10 shots, 5 hits, 3.33 wounds, no armor saves, I then get to make 3.33 FNP roles.

Well thank you for the answer, and i am sorry I wasted your time. However I did try to search for it before I posted this question and I got an error message, so I am interested what you typed in. I literally was seraching it before posting it less than 30 min ago. Anyway like I said sorry for wasting your time, on a side note you could just choose to not answer the question instead of being a tool about it.

Simply put, a wound which pierces armor, is still an unsaved wound. (You didn't get to save it right? )

However, if that would which pierces your armor happens to be from an AP1/AP2 Weapon, or a 'power weapon' in close combat in which no saves may be made against ever! (Regardless of AP value, examples: Dangerous Terrain, Perils, Wind of Chaos) then even though it is an "unsaved wound" you aren't getting FnP because the rules SPECIFICALLY address such wounds.

A Common misconception, so don't feel too badly about it... (This actually makes for rather hilarious matches when DoC-Nugle takes Epidemus vs a Pure Nurgle CSM list and the death toll reaches 20+ (No more FnP for anyone!) )

Thanks so much that makes alot of sence, I was just reading it and not thinking I guess. I had a hard time thinking alot of people were doing it wrong, thats why I asked. Thanks again.

I searched on "FNP AP" in the bar. The search function malfunctioned once when I searched "feel no pain" so I adjusted it.

If you did search and couldn't find it I apologize, seeing the same question on the same board page or after a quick search is a pet peeve of mine.
