Subject: Orks in the Current Meta?

Hello, I've been out of 40k for a while now, had to stop playing back when the space wolves first came out, I did do an escalation league over the summer, but it was mostly with people who have never played before and I was the one "teaching" the rest how to play.
I'm looking to get back in the swing of things as my FLGS has a tourney in the beginning of November, only I'm not sure how the last couple book releases have altered the meta.
My main questions are about some of the units I used to run and their validity now, my main competitive list was a mech assault style list, revolving around two battlewagons and 3 trukks with loota support.
The units:
5 strong MANz in trukkk
12 lootas
boyz w/ nob and klaw in trukk
boyz w/ nob and klaw in wagon
lone kopta w/ TL rokkits and buzzsaw
warboss
and KFF mech
in other words, a pretty bland mech list, it was pretty strong before, I had a win/loss ratio that was pretty good, salamander lists were my only headache.
Also, deff rollas worth it now with the new FAQ ruling? Seems like it as it's about the only way short of a warboss to break landraiders/monoliths.
Anyway, mostly looking for advice from any other mech ork players on what works for them.

MANZ are definitely subpar. They have no invuln to protect them from hidden powerfists or plasma, and they have no access to a bosspole to mitigate their leadership issues. Diversified Nobz are now the way to go.
Lootas should be run in either 5 or 15 strong mobz. With ~10, you need to lose about as many as you do with 5 to need a Leadership test, and then double the points run off the board.
Boyz in a transport are always a good idea. Just remember, sluggas in Trukks and Shootas in Wagons.
Buzzkoptas are one of my favorite units, nuff said.
Warboss = Great. KFF Mek = Greatest.

Why shootas in wagons? I used to just barrel forward with it until I was close enough to get out, waaagh, and assault.
I've seen the loota strat posted many times, what usually happens is when I make a list, is I start with 15, and take away until I'm under points cap...not the greatest of strategies I know.
Wouldn't diversified nobs be looked down on for being "broken"? I know there's a million ways to deal with them, but at the same time, they are pretty gimmicky.
What about a unit of let's say 6 nob bikers to go with the list? If memory serves the list comes in at about the same points as 10 in a trukk. They are mobile and can draw heavy fire away from the wagons.
Thoughts?

Shootas in a Wagon because sometimes you might want to soften something up before charging it, and, with the greater numbers in a Wagon, the extra CC boost from the extra attack isn't that important.
Nobz make be broken, but by god are they effective.
I'd say Nob Bikers are more gimmicky than regular Nobz. Also, I"m not a huge fan of bikers in general. Too many Ld problems.

They are not gimmicky. They are part of the game. Are your opponents not going to use JoTWW? Will they stop the Blood Talons of infinite attacks at a certain number? Or will they agree that a Tougnhess 8 model with 5 wounds that can't be assaulted and which ignores invunerable saves is just too good?
On to the meta. Trukks and wagons work great and the Big mek as mentioned is a massive force multiplier essential in most competitive builds. Deffrollas are awesome and one of the few answers orks have to high armor or indeed massed armor
