The Situation:
There are two vehicles directly next to each other of the same type, (ie. two rhinos in a parking lot). A unit with a template weapon is firing at them. (ie. marine with a flamer). The firing unit is in the rear arc of one of the vehicles, but the side arc of the other. The template is placed over both vehicles. The first is hit on the rear armor. The second vehicles is hit on the side, but none of the side facing can be seen. Thus the shot is resolved against the rear of that vehicle but it is given a 3+ cover save. As a template weapon ignores cover saves, the 3+ cover save is ignored. See the crude diagram below.

The Questions:
1) Is it legal to place a template over multiple vehicles?
2) Do templates ignore vehicle cover?
3) How do templates interact with the extreme angle rules?
4) Can a extreme angle shot allow a weapon that can not hurt the side armor hurt the rear armor?
Notes: All of the appropriate rules are in the "Vehicles" section of the BRB (pg 60-62). Also, I know that the example given is not the best tactical situation, but it makes a good example. If that bothers you, you can replace the two rhinos with two Battlewagons, and the marine with a LR with a flame storm cannon
