Alright I am building a Word Bearers army and I have been doing some searching on several forums and I am finding that everyone paints their Word Bearers differently. I am confused since this is my first army. Is there a right way or a wrong way to paint a Word Bearer? I mean I am seeing some with one black shoulder pad, some with both pads red. Some with gold trim, some with silver trim. I would assume that there is no wrong way to paint them just as long as one shoulder pad bears the Word Bearer symbol. Please can someone inform and enlighten me on this subject. Thank you.

There is no "right" way to paint a model, but if you do want the "official" paintscheme, just go into the book and follow the scheme given there. Fluff-wise all chaos armies have long since dispersed into separate warbands and tend to have variations on the basic design. My previous chaos army (a Word Bearers one) had maroon armor and silver trim with little other details.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

If you go to lexicanum they have pictures of GW's official paint scheme. Typically it is red armor with silver trim plus the details.
