So, it's still several weeks before the new DE codex becomes readily available. I've been trying to absorb as much of the new rules from here on the DAKKADAKKA forums so that I can bring my current DE army into line with that new codex. While independant character models will be most affected, because of new war gear options or so I think, I'm really focusing just on my units to begin with. I'm also interested to hear what everyone else w/ a current DE army will be doing to change up their models so they're codex legal. At least until you can replace them with the newer ones.

So far I've gone through my troops, pulled some models and replaced them with others that were unused. If memory serves me correctly, There is very little that will change for my Raider Squads: 10 man unit w/ splinter rifles, 1 upgrade to a Splinter Cannon another upgraded to a blaster. Upgrade character with a splinter pistol and agonizer. In total I currently have 4 Raider squads.

My wyches suffered the biggest change but still no complication. I had to remove the two blaster upgrades from the unit, and I replaced one with the current 'Beast Master' model and the other with my Lilith model. The Lilith model becomes the new upgrade character for the unit while I move the old one to fill the vacancy. So, still a 10 man unit. My only concern is the Wych weapon models as IIRC only 2 can be in a 10 man squad.

Incubi suffered a similiar fate as the wyches as I had to remove the 2 blasters from each of the full 10 man units I have. I had a spare Incubi w/ Punisher to put in one unit and I dragged out Drazhar to fill the empty slot in the other unit. So now I have two 9 man Incubi squads.

Currently the grotesques, which will become wracks, should be fine. As for a replacement for my one beast master, well, I had a model using the old wych succubus on a skyboard already so no problem there.

Reavers should be ok as well as my Scourges (These just depend on weapon upgrade choices).

So, there you have it. I still want to hear what the rest of you DE players are doing.

Frankly, mate, I don't know how you can bear to keep using those models now that almost all the currently available choices have been replaced by far, far superior modern versions. I mean, use them, obviously, but you're not planning to replace them eventually? I speak as someone who had a fairly big DE army way back when I was a kid.
