With my sudden use of veterans in my 'new' codex army, I have been given an excuse to use troops from a non-cadian regiment. However, I can't decide on which one to buy a squad of; I've narrowed it (not by much) to the Steel Legion, Valhallan or Mordian. I will, of course, perform a few conversions but I'd like to know which would work the best?

I think Steel Legion, compared to Cadians, looks like a well equipped unit of veterans.

Plus I could use a steel legion commissar as Bastonne if I decide he's worth it.

Honestly Elysians or some 3rd Party models would probably look better next to cadians than Long-coats or "pretty-boys".
Elysians may be expensive but they can get some nice "kit"... for an added price.
Mongoose games Starship troopers MI trooper models could work(the Starship Troopers Boxed game comes with 16 plus a bunch of bugs and you can get it for under $40 USD)
Rakham games AT-43 UNA steel Troopers aproximate to Cadians in style but have a grittier more veteran look(I do not remeber how "in-scale" they are compared to the GW minis though)
Pig iron has a mess of stuff that works great.
Wargames Factory greatcoat shocktroops look about like cadians in great coats(yes i know I said the other 2 GW greatcoat troopers wouldn't look right, but then WGF skocktroops look alot like Cadians)

I am using the Wargames Factory greatcoats to differentiate between Vet and normal; but the greatcoats are a little big when next to Cadians ( about a head taller than cadians ).
