Hey, this might seem like a noob question, and I don't have my codex at hand. But does Fire first rank fire second rank only work with lasguns (I thought thats what it said) or will it apply to meltas, plasmas, or grenade launchers?

I hate hard counters. In a game of rock, paper, scissors, I hate playing any of the factions because no matter what you choose you might as well not deploy against your hard counter. I want to use a gun. Rock, paper, and scissors could all probably still beat gun, but gun will never feel like a game is a lost cause. |

Darn, well, at least 20 man power blobs will have roughly 50-60 shots in 12".

It is not a bad Order to give; especially with High rate of fire Heavy and Special weapons.
Heavy Bolter and grenade launcher in a single squad gives you 3 HB shots, 1 Blast "lasgun" shot, and 12-18(19) las-weapon shots(depending on range).
