I have a vampire army and i was wondering. If i have a unit of 20 skeletons (4 ranks of 5) do i apy for all 20 or do i only pay 10 as only the two back ranks would benefit? Or do i pay for every one with a spear physically, which would be 17? Please answer my question. Yes this is a total noob question. Thanks!

Its called sarcasm. Really what does it taste like?

You would have to pay for all of them.

Thus, After having thus successively taken each member of the community in its powerful grasp and fashioned him at will, the supreme power then extends its arm over the whole community. It covers the surface of society with a network of small complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate, to rise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. Such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence; it does not tyrannize, but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each nation is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd

It's {insert value here} points per model, so if you want the unit to have spears you pay for all of the models in it.

Yeah, it's all of them, if you could chose them individually you could give the front rank 2 hand weapons, the second rank nothing, the third rank spears, and the fourth rank nothing, in order to maximise the number of attacks, and save points where you can.

More like a "noob looking for an angle to exploit" question...hehe, wait, that would be the 2HW, nothing (I'd actually go GW in the second rank), spear, nothing technique.
