life.

Exactly as the title asks. I was thinking of starting macedonian successors but wasn't sure on the general playing population.

I collect:

Grand alliance death (whole alliance)

Stormcast eternals

Slaves to Darkness - currently Nurgle but may expand to undivided.

My answer would be yes.

I would check out www.theminiaturespage.com and you can look up opponents and find clubs etc in your area. Its a good resource.

And I would say no.

In my experience DBA attracts the very worst in competition wargamers, its a set of rules written by rules lawyers for rules lawyers. They have no real feel for any period and reduce wargaming to rock, paper, scissors.

The Lieutenant is a Punk! And a pretty 2nd rate Punk at that.......

Depends on what you want, DBA is about as abstract as a wargame can get, without turning into chess. This lets you focus on tactics but also means that the games can feel very repetitive.

I'll agree that in my experience DBA tends to draw an unusually high number of rules lawyers (not all players are like this but more than you would expect to find in other games).

If you want a game that lets you think tacticly and can put up with the occasion rules laywer then give it a try.

If your after feeling like your playing that army rather than a game, then it's possibly not the best choice.

DBA can be fun and it is quick (and the armies are very small) but it does lack flavour.

I haven't had much problem with Rules Lawyers playing DBA but that might be because the people I play with save all their Rule Lawyering for DBM and DBMM and all the other bigger DBs out there (and I don't play those games!

I like DBA because it's the perfect lighthearted "beers & pretzels" game that can be played between friends in a very short amount of time (something like 15 to 30 minutes).

But it does feel like chess after a few games, and the lack of "period flavor" shows.

You may want to check out another game called "Impetus", which is often described as the middle ground between the minimalistic DBA and the extra-detailed Field of Glory.

A "lite" (but fully playable) version of the rules can be obtained for free at the following link:

or why dont try warmaster ancients or medieval Didn't read Impetus rules but I heard from few sources that they are pretty good. Would avoid DBA at any cost!
