B-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l work! :-) those speeders made my day! the kit is one of my favorites and you have done them justice! I just love your weathering technique, and you say it's all painted on? any particular recipe for it or do you adjust it to match the main scheme of the army? I still use the maskol weathering technique http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/244365-Landraider%20side%20on.html?m=2 but i'd love to learn how to paint weathering with confidence! please keep up the amazing work and I look forward to more from you!

Hey Sigur, do you have by chance done a tutorial on your method for painting the Ork skin tone? I've had a look at your site and posts but I may have missed something!

thanks dude.

Thanks Sigur, whenever you get a chance between painting Orks and wolves I'd be keen to see how you do that Ork skin, but no rush dude i've only got one Ork to paint unlike you! I just want to make sure I learn how to do it and do it well.

and that meme is awesome! lol, I believe it has happened to each of us at least once! kinda puts a stop on my painting when it does though!

. Depending on the angle you hold them they look like a completely different animal, ranging from deer to cougar. :p

How delighfully insightful!

Those wargs do look fantastic though! I really like how you've done them! top stuff as usual! the fur is awesome!

The skin on your cockatrice is great, looks suitably leathery and tough, that will be one model i'm keeping an eye out for when done! fantastic so far Sigur!

do you actually have a tiny evil moustache like your avatar? I always imagined you do!
Made in au
Chaplain with Hate to Spare

: Cheers. In fact I do sport a fancy moustache. As well as a bell around my neck. And a tiny black leather vest. And that's about it.

Really? how strange, sounds like what I look like on a saturday night!

*ahem* but seriously forks, that cock-atrice is amazing! I used to have an old and rather large book of fairy tales from around the world and I was always fascinated by the mythical ones especially dragons/griffons/cockatrice, and your model is exactly the same colours and shading as the pics i used to pore over! such a lovely model and paint job Sigur!

so, what's next on your bench? you know you can trust me! ......

Looking forward to seeing this lot! those dwarves are really very cool! are they used for fantasy or is it just a model company? :-) hurry up and get painting mr Sigur! just don't get your bell in the paint or spill any on your stylish leather vest!

My take is the brown vest over, I just like the look of it, can't really pop my finger on it but, yeah it looks good!

Awesome work Sigur! looking great, can't wait to see how you attack the tattoos! full tribal sleeve on one? :-)
Also really like the metallics look excellent! all in all they're fantastic models and appeal to me much more than other companies vision of dwarves!

Loving that Bor model Sigur! very nice w.i.p I am quite taken by the cool bleached bone colour you get on things like the skull etc... it makes the other colours you lay down seem very warm by comparison, this is reflected in a lot of your work not just the dwarves you are doing now, always a pleasure seeing what you paint, i've learnt a few things just from following your plog and I seriously look forward to being inspired by more! I picked up some tips when I did my Warboss from your Orks and I was tutored by Pyriel on some other parts and he turned out imo really good! better photo's would do him more justice but they'll follow soon, now i need you to paint an Imperial fist so i can pilfer some technique :-).....

Hi Sigur, thanks heaps for the pic! that is some lovely yellow right there! i'm struggling as with yellow you don't blend the highlights up across the armour as much as with other colours and i'm second guessing myself with it, i'll pop a link up for you to my blog, it's got some w.i.p and the warboss for you to look at when you get a chance? forgive the pics, they're o.k but not really great at showing the actual skin tones i managed to produce, let me know what you think? :-) and thanks again for being such a prolific painter!

http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/510/356350.page you may also like to see the page before this one as there's some other w.i.p shots and close ups of the yellow armour :-)

cheers

Epic work as usual Sigur! the sallie dreads are beautifully done, I quite like your flame work and ashmantle has given me an idea or two for my own salamanders :-) can't wait to see these guys take shape!

Nerdfest09

I agree, keep up the coolness, although 'coolness' isn't something flame and lava loving sallies would recognise! maybe keep up the hotness would be a better term? as this is all whetting my appetite for painting more of my own salamanders!.....so thanks Sigur, you leather vest moustachioed painting god!

Looking great Siggy! and sure go ahead and sig my comment! aways good for a giggle! :-)

That raider is beautifully done so far I like your technique on adding the flames, very nice, are you ading many gold accents? if so i'd be interested how you go about it on larger parts? ....and yep, I am painting a sallies force myself! thought you'd seen them?

Can't wait to see more of yours though! everything you seem top produce gives me more ideas and inspiration to paint, the green you're using for the salamanders is really different too, kind of realisticaly washed out if that makes sense? but it works very well!

keep it up dude!

Landraider is absolutely gorgeous Siggy! the paint looks almost pearlescent! incredible stuff again, just enough for it to be an ornate relic and still appear a hardy death dealing machine (a bit like me!) :-)

looking forward to everything you paint! even dreadfleet and I know nothing about it nor am i interested in it! I just want to see what you DO with it!

keep it up dude!

Well, that looks pretty 'Halloween' to me Siggy! that cloak is just gorgeous dude! beautifully done highlighting as with all your work! love it and can't wait for more!

keep it up dude!

I know it's been said before and nearly every time you update pics! your work is beautiful! but I am just amazed at the quality of your 'flat work' those sails just cement you as one of the finest mini artists out there! I love looking at what you produce! even if i have absolutely no interest in boats at all! these still draw me in to enjoy!

and I also quite like the dark angel captain you're working on, I bet he will be great as usual, don't get tricked into highlighting him like a salamander! :-)

keep it up siggy you moustachioed leather clad painting god! (if your avatar is still accurate that is!)

Thanks Sigur, i've been looking for pics of space marine models on the net but keep coming up with hardly anything to see! and now you've popped up that beautiful thunderfire cannon i've finally got something to look at! :-) and I do enjoy looking at it! it's not a model I find to be aesthetically pleasing but your painting of it really brings it to life as a support weapon in the thick of battle, as usual your weathering is superb and my favorite part is the attention to detail on the servo arms of the techmarine, I love seeing the chipping on the armatures, just makes it look like he actually uses them!

Also, great work on the chaplain and the wounded wolve is great! I just can never justify painting a model that doesn't shoot ;-) I may need to hit you up for one one day!

keep it up dude!

Nicely done Siggy! your last ship is just as good as the rest of them! it's just a touch 'darker' in theme so it may just be sucking the fun out of you to use as a fell wind towards war and death? ..... I could be wrong though!

And the dread is amazing! looks fantastic with those close combat arms, I really like the look of them, it's funny as i just finished my own salamanders dread, you'll have to pop over and have a look in my thread? not as good as what you've done, your blending of the red to yellow on the chest plates did make me go 'wow' and accents the shade of green you chose spot on! what else have you in the pipe for the sallies? how do you intend to do your base troops for the army? as good as vulkan or a tad simpler?

until next time.

If that's the start of the griffon! i'm amazed already! those wings are going to look fantastic, right from your base colours you instill a sense of character for each model and it draws us in to see what the end result will be!

great stuff again! can't wait to see tham all finished they'll be amazing i'm sure!

Nerdfest09

Great stuff, I love the griffon, did you use your 'usual' methods for him? he appears less blended and more layered or is it just the style of the model making him appear thus? either way, you've done an excellent job on him, I quite like the purples and greens too, it's nice to see them in lighter shades up to near white, I always find i have a tendancy to start darker and am scared to work my highlights up that much, but yours always appears more natural so i may learn from you and just try it and see how i go :-)

can't wait to see what's next!

This afternoon i looked and Mr Contemptor seemed like he'd just sneezed in a flour mill!..... Now however barely a few hours later, he has apparently cleaned himself off rather well to show a rather tasty and worn battle hardened exterior! Sigur, that weathering on him works a treat! as does the additions of the hazzard stripes, they add a dash of colour he needs!
