Played my first game with goblins against my friends daemons the other day and was successful. I ran with 6 spear chukkas, 3 rock lobbas and 2 doom divers in a 1k battle.

The doom divers misfired and were destroyed in the first round, the Spear Chukkas killed maybe 2-4 guys, the daemon ward save made it difficult for a 2nd wound to go through the 2nd rank. The rock lobbas faired a little better killing maybe 4 daemons. The MVP were my fanatics, I love those little guys.

So I am scrapping the war machines, all of them. I am going with larger groups of night goblins. I am going with bows since those were very nice, volley fire and being throwing out 30-40 dice and hitting on 5s as I was -1 for stand and shoot and I was still taking down 4-5 daemons. I came up with this list for a 1,250

Characters go into the big group. I am unfamiliar with Squig Herds. I have heard they are good to send ahead into the battle to cause chaos while the main force moves up. I've also been told they make great flankers while the main force tarpits. Dispel scroll for dispelling the horror's spells they hurt bad. NG Big Boss #2 is going to challenge Skull Taker or a Herald of Khorne and when he gets whacked he might take them with him with the Bauble. Spider Banner with the spears, this is likely the unit that will face 30-40 blood letters, bow attacks and 4 ranks of spear attacks all wounding on 6s to hit due to poison attacks, I believe these would bypass a ward save please correct me if I am wrong.

Goblin warboss has to lose the dispel scroll, cant take it. I would up the BSB and the shaman to normal goblins. I would drop spears on your guys and at least one unit should have shields. Shortbows are just too short and coupled with BS3 only about 1/4 or so shots would land a hit. I think fanatics work best in units of 2 but thats my preference. Also nets are pretty much a must have for some of these goblins. Svaes their hides really well sometimes. My main concern with this list is that only the fanatics are hard hitting. Fast cav and ect will easily draw them out and wait till they kill themselves. I would have at least some chariots or something to be a bit more reliable


BTW poison will NOT bypass ward saves. That is the point of a ward save, they will most likely be able to take it in any situation that does not say "no saves of any kind allowed". You can fire a cannonball, launch space rocks, and give them the deadliest poisons and they will still have that ward save
