I know that in Apocalypse you're pretty much able to take any unit from any codex and that force organisation is out the window. But what about Character forced organisation? for instance if you take a special character and that character puts a limit on the number of certain units you can have or completly dissallows certain units. Or if a character can't be taken in conjunction with another special character. Are those restrictions void along with the rest of force organization restrictions or are they still in effect?

Not in effect at all.

Guess youre thinking about Tau Empire? You can simply call them two armies that you are fielding....

Could also be BA with two versions of Tycho (why anyone would like two of him is beyond me though). But, as Nos said, just say it's two different armies.

For thirteen years I had a dog with fur the darkest black. For thirteen years he was my friend, oh how I want him back.

Page 18 of the Apocalypse book, first paragraph. It sums it up nicely... no FOC restrictions apply. FOC Restrictions imposed by taking a certain character are still FOC restrictions.

the only restriction on what units you can bring is that each player can only field one of each unique ( Named) character.

you can if you want field 28 deamon princes one Fire Prism and a 4 Lemon Russes.

so long as each individual unit is purchased legitimately in and of it self.

WE SHALL SMITE THE ENEMIES OF THE LEMONADE EMPRA WITH ACIDE!

But to stay somewhat on topic, yes, so long as no player fields two of the same Unique Character, all bets are off when it comes to what units you bring.

Once again, as per the reference I already provided, there is no restriction on what you can bring. If you want to field 20000 points made up entirely of multiple copies of Marneus Calgar, that's perfectly within the rules.

Getting someone to agree to play against it may or may not be a different story entirely...

Only apoc restrictions there are are ones that specifically say "In Apoc Games blah blah blah"

So far I can only think of the artillery bombardments that you call off map

Isn't there still a restriction on Unique models?
Or is that explained away with a "He might look like Eldrad, but he is just another special Farseer.

"He died because he had no honor. He had no honor and the Emperor was watching."

There is no specific restriction on Unique models, no. The core rules of 40K say you can only take one of them. The Apocalypse rules say that all restrictions on FOC selections are removed.

They suggest only having one of each, but it is only a suggestion.

Well thankfully I'm not actually thinking about taking an entire army of special characters as it dosen't give me any real leeway with making a themed army Nosferatu1001 had it right I'm thinking about doing an Apocalypse Tau Empire led by O'shovah. I do realise that the Enclaves cc abilities only work against Tau but that's ok by me. Anyway thank you to everyone.
