From my experiences 1500 points is a sweet spot for Orks. I usually run two battlewagons and three trukks under a KFF and just hammer into the enemy.

But I was looking to get the opinion of other Ork players on which list theme they think works best at 1500.

I chose other as the kan wall option only stated 9 kans.

At 1500 points I have been having great success with a 6 kan wall list. I just find 9 kans at 1500 a little to much, I just take more boyz, lootas and komandos instead. And I usually take a warboss on bike as the other hq as 6 kans only needs 1 mek, he just zips ahead behind cover and makes a good tank/backfeild unit killer. Occasionally I throw Zogwart in there instead just for kicks.

I'd have to agree with the voters that Mech is the best choice at 1500 points. Now the question lies with which elite unit(s) to add for flavor. I could go with my favorite units the Lootas, but I have just starting painting a unit of Stormboyz and just have built a unit of Kommandos with Snikrot. Not sure which I want. I got a tournament in two weeks so I can't get a lot of play time to get used to the Stormboyz or Kommandos.

From experience fighting against orks, I have to say that fighting 9 Killa Kans at 1500 points really holds up well. The sheer volume of armour to deal with is tough - and you're unlikely to pop them all with whatever heavy weapons you may have at 1500 (which i'd wager wont be much outwith a dedicated shooting army).

1500 is too few points for a 9 Kan Wall, so I voted for Mechanized. Footslogging is never the most competitive of builds at higher point values, and it takes too long to play at most tourneys. At 1750-1850, I'd definitely vote for a 9 Kan Wall though.

1500 points is great for a 9-kan wall. At 1500 points, I run:

(2) Big Mek, KFF
(3) 3x Killa Kans, Rokkits
(3) 3x War Buggy, Rokkits
(3) 5x Lootas
(2) 12x Boyz, Trukk, Ram
(3) 10x Grotz, Runtherder

Personally I have huge confidence issues with your 24 boys, I like the 30 'Go to Grounds' but against say a whirlwind...

For your elite slot I would vote lootas, you simply cannot go wrong with em' in any list. Komandos with Snikrot would be high up there as well but they can be expensive even in small units (mostly due to Snikrot's cost), you can always find the 75 points needed for a small unit of lootas.

I voted for other.

My cents are for:

-a mixture of KFF, Rolla, Buggies and Kanz (opposing almost anything except for guards)
-mass boyz + lootaz + some kanz + KFF (opposing guards)
