Im sure its gonna end up being a stupidly obvious answer, but I cannot find it in the rule book or here so here goes
Using Karl Franz on Deathclaw as an example (Cause I love blowing all my points in one place), I Understand that wounds are allocated on a D6 1-4 on Deathclaw, 5-6 on Karl Franz.
Now, Karl Franz should get a 3+ save (Plate and +1 for the mount), a 4+ Ward Save, and a magical resistance of 3
BUT... pg105 the phrase "... they each may take any saves to which they are entitled." definately makes it sound, to me anyway, that Deathclaw (Having no armour) would recieve no save at all, is this correct? Certainly the Emperor's favored mount (And huge point drain) can't be so fragile... can it?

Indeed, he gets no armor save. This is the typical vulnerability for most mounts in that class (griffons, hippogryph, manticore, abyssal horror, etc).

Hm, certainly makes me want to take another look at Deathclaw's role tactically, as well as his value point-wise.

I'm not certain but because of Karl's magic resistance(3) I think Deathclaw might get a 4+ ward save against magic. This is just coming from the ruling if a character that has magic resistance joins a unit then that unit benefits from the resistance so I'd just assume that'd extend to Deathclaw too.
Apart from that though I don't see him having any natural saves. Of course there might be away to magically give him one.

I agree that magic resistance should carry over to the mount, it will carry over into any unit the model joins so it should carry over to another part of the same model.
