So I've recently been introduced to Warmachine/Hordes and started a Khador force. So far I have the starter box and I ordered the following:

- Beast-09 (For affinity with my warcaster from the starter box.)
- Mortar Team (For some long range splash damage.)
- A heavy warjack Kit (So I can magnatize all three of my heavy jack bodies and have swappable arms allowing me to field more variations.)
- A warhound (I like the look of him and figured having a model with a value of one would be usefull when filling an army out to a certain point value.)

So I guess my question is where should I expand from here to give me some more options at lower point games and at the same time creating a solid 35 point list that will utilize what I have above.

Thanks for your suggestions and critiuqes.

Either Butcher, pVlad, or Kharchev would be pretty solid. Butcher likes juggys and Beast and pVlad and Kharchev like running jacks.

To build up to 35 points you can't go wrong with things like:

Butcher (alternate 'caster)
Widowmakers
Manhunter

I'm a fan of Winterguard, UA and Kovnik Jozef, but the sculpts aren't the best.

I tried out some widowmakers using proxies the other day and they were useful for snipping individual low hit point support models on the other team. I think I'll probably grab one group of those and winterguard are something I am thinking about since they go well with the fluf list for my current warcaster, however I hate the Joe model/pose. I'll probably just do up a commisar from GW with some GS detail work and use that as my Joe. I'm gonna stay away from switching warcasters at the moment until I get a good feel for my current one. Or were those suggestions for adding a second warcaster to my current list. In that case I may look into Kharchev or Butcher.

Thanks for the advice so far. Still working on getting the paint on my models.

No additional warcasters on army until you play 100 point games. The suggestion of another warcaster was aimed at trying the game with another king piece to learn different things, as that is a good way to learn your preferences and system.

I'd also reccomend Winter Guard, as they're a solid core choice of troops that you can add to with their UA and Rocket Launcher WA's. Josef makes them rediculous, and they benefit from Fog of War while the enemy closes...

Bob and Weave (from the UA) and Fog of War makes them effective DEF 16 vs shooting, and Josef can give them fearless and tough. Makes them a tough unit to deal with.

And the Wardog is perhaps the best 1pt solo out there in definition of usefulness.

What's wrong with the Winterguard models at the moment? Are they sub-par production wise, or do you just not like the look of them?

I think I'll expand to this and play a few more games and see what I am lacking:

- Sorsha
- Wardog
- Beast- 09
- 3 Warjacks (From the variants I have. Probably two semi-shooty ones and a melee one to reduce the focus needed to use them effectively.)
- Mortar Team
- Small group of Widow Makers
- Winter Gaurd w/ 2 Rockets, UA, Joe(custom model)

I was looking at Bombard last night. It seems like solid model that is flexible in its uses and would probably become a large bullet magnet. I don't mind if that unit tends to suffer from the bullet magnet syndrom, because I am used to using that against my enemies in other games. So I can work with that. Are their any other drawbacks or reasons why this unit probably wouldn't be a good fit for the army I am building here?

I like the new rifle winter guard. The older WG are some of PP's first infantry sculpts and look like it, IMO.

Also in my above post I ment Behemoth not Bombard (which are the weapons he has). Yeah I like the look of the wintergaurd rifle unit as well.

The only problems with the Behemoth is putting him together and the argument phase over how the subcortex is supposed to work. I have one that I picked up in a trade (Old winterguard ironically) and I'm trying to talk the wife into letting me get an extreme Juggy and build the Behemoth off of that.

I'm okay with the Winterguard's sculpts, but they are often mocked by the player
base (especially the one with the hatchet raised) as being yucky (especially when you
consider that the sculpts seem to emphasis the shoulderpads whereas the other factions'
single piece sculpts were Zealots in robes, Long gunners with Long guns, and Mcthrall zombie robots).

I just want to point out that the later Winterguard models look solid...the UA, WA, Weapon Crews and Rifle Corps all look good...it's just the basic Winterguard that look a little 'clunky'.
