I want to make a small 1500pt elite army and one of the best options is wolfwing, I understand their advantages over deathwing such as they can safety deploy in a drop pod unleash their combi-weapons that give them more flexablity before enduring the counter-attack.

But rather than posting list after list, I thought I'd ask for some advice first so answer me these questions 3...

1. What weapons loadout do you consider the best for a 5 man unit of wolf guard terminators?

2. What other units do you think are best for supporting them(lone wolves, scouts, dreadnoughts)?

3. Since they can't deep strike whats the best way to have the units start off in (all drop pods or some on foot and in land raiders for example)?

These are my biggest concerns so some advice would be very helpful, going from mech guard and swarmy deamons to a small army like ain't easy and so far I've only had a quick glance at the codex. I'd also be grateful for any sample army lists?

1)I try to mix things up but:
The TH/SS combo makes them a tad pricey at 63 points (?) per model.
The dual Wolf claws also makes them over the normal assualt termie cost but re-rolls on hits or wounds can help in some cases especially against MC and high WS models.
Keeping the standard power weapon and storm bolter works quite well but upgrading the power weapon to a frost weapon in my opinion is worth it as they still hit quick and decently hard.

2)Dreadnoughts would be good support providing you had enough other AV units to distract an enemy from them. Scouts are, i have found, under-rated by most people and very good at killing any backfield units although the outflanking might take a while depending on your dice rolls so YMMV although infiltrating to create a screen and disrupting enemy movements can help.

3)Personally 3 land raider filled with termies will pretty much stomp most things although you will need to watch for melta etc
Footslogging isn't really an option though if all you have are TH/SS termies then you might make it.
Drop pods are a tad unpredictable although if you also had a number of dreads supporting and their drop pods had locator beacons then you could use those to fine tune your incoming termies.

Personally i prefer to mix my wepon choices up and i use a land raider for deployment. Support units are in the form of wolf scouts despite the possibility of them arriving late they always suprise my opponents and almost always make their points back.
