I know Wargames Factory used to have a program for turning in empty sprue for product, but I have no idea if that's still going on.

Perhaps they're the C'tan.

To what end? I'd have to imagine the cost of transporting and recycling the plastic has got to far outstrip the pennies it is worth.

I think if they have a meltagun mould it would be very profitable considering they are impossible to find for IG players.
Maybe sell each one for $3.00
GW sells metal ones. But they are relatively expensive.

Cut them up and use them dioramas and scenery.

Excellent for the skeletons of destroyed buildings.

Or just make some Necrons out of them.

In one of the old Black Gobbo issues they mention finding a heavy metal meat grinder and feeding all their old sprues into it to make rubble with the turn of a handle.

I don't have one, but I DID ask the local grocery store if I could borrow theirs for 5 minutes. Needless to say, no luck.

Buy an old blender at a garage sale for a few bucks and grind them up into rubble. They take up less space and you are always ready to cover a new terrain piece, battle board, or miniature base with rubble.

That's what I do.

You can make some nice terrain with sprues. You can also grind them down and use them for basing.

If you have a local plastic injection company you might be able to give them away. I wouldn't hold my breath though.

Use them for your terrain needs. It's far less inexpensive than getting premade stuff.

You can get really creative with the sprues. Some of the more creative things I've made are Flamers and Melta gun nozzels from leftover sprues (although it requires a bit of carving and sanding) and a Daemon Hammer. I'm also planning to make a Bretonnian Trebauchet with some of the bigger pieces I have.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

Completely true. My gaming group never buys terrain. We make %98 of it from scratch, and it all looks really nice. The little we do buy is usually on a really good sale.

Use melted then stretched sprue for comms aerials on tanks and other units. Just like proper military modellers do.

Alternatively, sprue is a good resource for melting into new and exciting things. Throw it in some acetone then pick it out with a toothpick to make realistic alien slime/creature drool for your big beasties!

I actually pay someone to take them away along with the rest of my garbage. If you are into making your own terrain though I could see how they could be handy.

i just put them in the recycling bin. environmentally friendlier than throwing away. i make the odd thing out of them but only so many things you can make and sprues seem to multiply too fast lol. so def the best thing is the recycling bin

Most recycling places in the US as far as I know don't take polystyrene. It's getting better but still hard to find.
