Getting into imperial guard and the thought of buying 3 60mm bases for $6.50 USD was not appealing. So I looked up Gale Force 9's econo rounds. I saw one review that was very positive but it lacked a good comparison between Gale Force and GW.

Here's what I found:

First: it is very true, you get A LOT of bases when you order the econo rounds. I ordered the pint sized batch and got 39 bases. THIRTY NINE BASES! That's an insane amount.

Now the pics:

The Chinese take out box it comes in.

Yes, 39 of them. That's sick.

A side by side. I ordered the 60 mm and they are actually a little smaller than the GW bases. Take a look at the next one.

As you can see, if you put the base on top of each other, the Gale Force 9 is the same size as the TOP of the GW base, but because they bevel out the base at the bottom there is a difference.

Another image of the same.

Honestly for the price you really can't beat the Gale Force 9 bases. If you don't mind them not being beveled then buy them by the quart! You may want to make the size a touch bigger, like 65mm to compensate for the beveling.

they look similar to the older 60mm round bases GW produced (those ones that were uber thin and had no bevel). incidentally I think they're even the same size as the old 60mms.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

When I'm editing alot, you know I have a gakload of homework to (not) do.
