Im currently working on a space wolves list and I have a question about most codex's

when it says "replace bolt pistol and/or close combat weapon with :" does it mean you can only choose one of the following or you can choose and pay in points for 2 items i.e thunder hammer and storm shield.

You can replace either the bp, chainsword or both. Hence yes, you can have TH/SS termis if you want!

Its a bit of a take everything you can carry.

For the record, you still can't replace more items than you have. SM Captain with power sword, bolt pistol, and storm shield is not legal.
