Wow does the CSM LR suck in comparison to EVERY OTHER version! I don't care that it is 30 points cheaper. What good is a LR w/o machine spirit? No good that's what!

So besides just copying the loyalist characteristics, how should GW bring the CSM LR up to snuff?

Well, if the guy who wrote 5th Ed Space Wolves and Blood angels writes the new CSM codex, it will be the "chaos spirit of chaosy machine chaos" that makes the Land Raider fast, ignore stunned and shaken, deep strike, and give it a psychic power that removes any models on the table within 24" on a roll of 3+

No that assumption is all wrong and misinterpreted based off of slander of Matt Ward and what he would do.

It would clearly be a roll on 2+

maybe there could be a tank shock upgrade that causes D6 S3 AP3 wounds on any non vehicle unit. It could represent the many spikes and trophy polls that adorn the cherished relics that are CSM LRs. This would also encourage the offensive use of the vehcle, especially where it does not have a machine spirit equivalent.

Perhaps a warp portal within the Land raider, where it could hold multiple units and how much points it will cost will be the amount of units/members of a unit it can hold.

uhhhhhhh so? At the moment the land raider is only only good for one thing, charging forward at full speed. Demonic Possession just makes that objective easier. But for the points you could just rhino rush with a larger force.

The land riader is supposed to be iconic. I think the CSM one leaves much to be desired.

It was written in that really awful phase where GW managed to make a lot of decisions that were both bland and not so good on the tabletop. See: Dark Angels.

Personally I've never really liked the standard Land Raider. It doesn't know what it wants to be. It's a troop transport, but it's got long range firepower better suited for the backfield. It's got lascannons to pop tanks, but it's also got heavy bolters, meaning no matter what you shoot will waste half your firepower.

True and this fact is made even worse because of the lack of Machine spirit. I would even take split fire for when the land raider stands still. Yes That is what I want. I want the CSM LR in the next dex to stay cheap like it is now and have Split fire. Not as good as machine spirit but still useful.

Codex Creep, learn it, live through it, love it, and deal with it...as every codex goes through this (well except for Space Wolves...they got leaps better after they got their FAQ after the Nids came out...O RLY levels of wierd ).
