The Scott Pilgrim vs. The World soundtrack also has some gems on it. Both Sex Bob-omb tracks are great, as is their cut of Metric's Black Sheep:

"B*tch*s" was the first track that hooked me. Heard it on a Boston college station in the middle of the night at random backn in the 90s. Took me a while to track it down, back then.

My interest in Foo Fighters has been restoked since I found out that their first concert in about 3 years is going to be less than 10 miles from where I live
I'm re-discovering the oldest Blind Guardian albums, closer to thrash-speed metal. I hadn't heard this songs in years! And now I remember why I listened to them, they're great!
Them Crooked Vultures seems to be getting a lot of attention from me lately

"They are not your worst nightmare; they are your every nightmare."
"Let the galaxy burn!"

My personal favorite is Kill the Rock, but that's because I'm a hipster that only listens to deep cuts.
My Band Of The Moment?
Still probably They Might Be Giants. Now and forever.

Haters gon' hate.
I am both selfish and chaotic. I value self-gratification and control; I want to have things my way, preferably now. At best, I'm entertaining and surprising; at worst, I'm hedonistic and violent.

They are so damn good. I've seen them live a couple of times, including at the MFA in Boston when they blew the fuses and we had to sit in the dark for a few minutes while they fixed the plave.
One of my exes was a huge fan, had seen them a bunch of times, but they had never played Birdhouse in Your Soul at any of those shows, which was one of her favorites. When we went and saw them together the first time, a couple of months into our relationship, they played it, and she jumped up and down in sheer joy, yelling to me "I love you, I love you, I love you!" which was the first time she had said it to me.
Definitely got some great memories associated with them, but they're a really excellent band as well.

I saw TMBG two years after I graduated undergrad, when they came back to my old school. Luckily I kept my ID, and go to see them for free along with my gf at the time.
They absolutely tore the roof off of Higher Ground in Burlington, VT. I've been to quite a few shows of many different genres, but I've never experienced the kind of euphoric energy that took over that venue.
It's seriously one of my greatest memories in life.

Violent Femmes are also excellent live. And Turbonegro. The latter much better live than on record.
