I was wondering when calculating instant death for Cannis wolfborn if its toughness 4 or 5. IIRC it doesnt state which one it is but the wolf improves his toughness characteristic.

Help would be appreciated

If the T5 is in brackets (i.e. because the wolf makes him that), then you use T4, as with bikes.

He is T5, as apparently riding a giant wolf stops lascannons from exploding your body.

It does state in the thunderwolf cavalry wargear area that it is an actual increase in toughness that the thunderwolf provides. So no ID from S8 or S9.

Not that that matters; Canis doesn't ride a thunderwolf mount, he is a Cavalry model with the stats on his profile. The Wargear "fangir" amounts to pure-fluff Wargear and could have been left off entirely(the only rules part of Fangir is that unknown bonuses were granted from it and those bonuses have already been applied to Canis' profile).
