Good day all.

I am somewhat of a basic painter, but avid modeler and gamer (40k). I can not currently painting due to my location, but I am planning my CSM color scheme. Once I get back with my painting supplies, I should bring this project to life.

I would like to use a Orange and Blue color scheme for my chaos marines. I have been looking at different options, but have not decided what would be the best. Here are the ideas I am playing with:

I like the color distribution of "The Purge" models... (would probably follow the color distribution style)

And want to use some orange as per "The Pyre":

and some blue like the "Nightkillers":

Looking at all that, I think I should put orange on the body, upper legs, lower arms, and blue on the lower legs, boots, shoulder pads. I am not sure whether a silver, gold or grey trim would be best on the sides of the armors.

Please provide some suggestions and feedback. I do not have much other to do here other than think about my paint scheme... and customize my ebay acquisitions (plague marines, bikes and raptors).

Once again, somewhat basic painter here, have over 3000pts CSM to paint. Please provide suggestions.

for the trim, I would say, mix silver and gold. I just tried that out, and it looks very nice. But for the rest, it's all up to you.

Have you checked out http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/csmp.php for some help with your color choices? It's pretty helpful.

As for your selections, orange and blue will go great together because they are opposing colors and so both will make the other "pop" a little more. Personally, I think gold trim might clash with the orange but you never know! Try both out and choose which you like better. I have 2-3 mini's that I keep painting layers and layers on with different color combos or techniques I want to try out. Once the paint gets to thick, I strip em down, re-prime them and keep messing until I find what I was looking for.

Good luck!
