I was just browsing the PP site, and saw all the cool gatormen/crocodile models in the minions faction. Is it possible to collect a force made up of only the crocodile-type models? Would it be any good in the game? And is it only viable in Hordes, or can some of them be used for War Machine too?

Considering that the Gatormen are only available to Hordes factions in the first place, Hordes only.

And yes, they are completely viable on their own. It's usually worth taking other amphibians in the Blindwater Congregation, though, if you want to be particularly competitive.

About the warmachine question you can't mix'match armies between hordes and warmachine, but you can play warmachine armies against hordes armies. (Which is epic). Also Gatormen are getting a character soon so they can be an army by themselves

Actually, their first Warlock is already out. They're a perfectly playable faction, even if they're missing a lot of options. Pretty nice for the 15-35 point level, though.

If you get the latest No Quarter, they have the rules for the "Blindwater Congegation", which is the pact/contract that allows you to field a force of nothing but Gators.

There are some models that can cross the Warmachine/Hordes lines, like Wrongeye and Snapjaw, but those are rules specific to those models.

As far as being good, the Blindwater is a very denial themed force, with lots of big hitters. With the ability to submerge a lot of your troops so they can't be shot at, your army can reach their lines pretty much untouched.

I'm waiting for the Minions book to be released to see just how deep the minions will get. (Gators and Farrow)

They should be even more competitive when the Minions book comes out, thats when I'll get into Hordes.

If anything, Minions will have a step up, because Mercs have paved the way, and PP knows just how much 'awesome' they can pack into a model before it becomes an issue. Lord Carver and Barnabas as Minion Casters are both silly good, but are held in check by the options they can bring to the table.

Both of them together cannot equal the awesome that is Drake MACBAIN.
