So I've never played the miniatures game but I was just at Game Stop and saw that they had a Blood Bowl video game. Has anyone played this? is it any good?
Well for one thing this game isnt exactly like most football games, its entirely turn based. You try to use all sorts of nasty characters, big guys, and tools to get your touchdowns or to just beat the stuffing out of your opponents so they cant use their good players

You actually saw it in a store? It's unheard of in Canada.

This a million times over. Then a million more times. I feel you're heavily handicapped when playing against the CPU to such a degree that your roster/tactics don't even matter because you'll just lose. This could just be a spell of bad luck that I've ran into, maybe others have had a better time playing it.
If you need me, I'll be busy wiping the layers of dust off my dice.

Automatically Appended Next Post: The only cool turn based game I've ever played was Gladius and Blood Bowl did;ot even come close.
Gladius was a really good game. But I have to say, if thats the best youve played, youve had to of missed a few. Final Fantasy Tactics is a badass turn based game. I also was really fond of Front Mission 3 (I know they made others, but this was the best IMO) if you like big ass robots that you pilot and blow the hell out of things, this will win your heart

Might just be you - I never had any problems with crazy luck rolls. I admit I rarely took too many injuries, but it's possibly because I was always getting 2-3 dice on any given roll...
Personally, I enjoyed the game. I absolutely loved playing as Chaos Warriors - absolutely no strategy involved. Run up, beat the everloving gak out of the enemy team, and hope that you focus enough to actually run the ball in once in a while. There were more than a few games where the match eventually came down to me with 10 players on the field, my opponent with 3 (due to crippling injuries on account of my Warriors).

I really liked the tabletop game so i might give it a go. I still remember fondly going halfers on the set and basically just opting to take the human team. I was really proud of them. just as proud of them as the line men were proud of their cods! those minis did seem a bit "thrusty" to me.
I should give the game a go, i'll pick it up when i have the spare time!
S'all fun and games until some no life troll master debates all over your space manz & ruins it for you
