I'll skip criticizing your wep loadouts. Read AdvancedTauTactica.com for loads and loads of XV8 weapon choice informtation.
Switch SMS for BCs. It's two more shots (though 6" shorter). You'll save points enough for the trimming you refer to later. Add MT so it can move Combat Speed and shoot the SMS, eerrrr BCs at infantry while the RG does its thing.

Something to consider: A FB is for tank busting. A flamer is for weak armor saved hordes. You're not likely to be shooting both of these at the same time, at the same target.
So, re-equip with Twin-Link FB and flamer. No MultiTracker. The TLFB counts as one gun when shooting, so no need for the MT, and a helluva lot more accurate. Flamers don't roll to hit. So, he can bust up a tank in one round. And spray napalm the next.
*That* said, I dislike the FB/flamer idea, even TLFB/flamer, (because this leaves you too close to getting caught in h2h) but sometimes kids just gotta play with their toys the way they want. And he is awfully cheap.

The broadsides are my big problem here. No bonding knife means that last one is going to walk away and never come back at one point. Also that 2 Broadsides will always be firing at the same thing so that could be a potential waste of a rail shot.
But we cant do that due to the fact we have ran out of Heavy support spaces.
So to improve on this list I offer 1 piece of solid advice. Drop the commander to a Shas'el saves you 25pts, and upgrade the pathfinder team to 6 models (costing 24pts leaving 1 pts left over) Use the spare for a blacksun filter on a HH if nothing else.
I highly advise that you cut 2 FW to get 20 pts and use 5pts for Bondknife on the Broadside Team leader then 15 pts on HWDC and a shield drone. (If someone ever fires an AP2+ S8+ weapon and hits the broadside unit you do not want to run the risk of Insta killing a Broadside)

what variant are we talking about here, or are you just posting random crap because of how bad your list is?
i see 5 railguns and 4 meltaguns as a pretty good answer to tanks, and 22 s5 ap5 30" range weapons as a good answer to guardsmen, seeing as they wound on 2s with no save and are rapid fire...

Ignore him. As he did not specify why or how the post was worthless other then to annoy.
Also I meant 2fw, 1 form each unit so it doesn't create a weakness in 1 unit. But that is fine. Also if you don't want the 2 more Pathfinders you might want your commander to at least have a shield drone of generator instead so he is not instakilled. No point in him having 3/4 wounds if he loses them all at once.
If it helps though IG do get pretty tough in there huge numbers. I run a smaller list then you and I deal with them fine my 1500pt list dealt with an IG 2000pt list with a bit of a push. -It was not a leaf blower list though.

Actually I wansnt randomly trolling, as you can only suppress 3 tanks at range per turn, and army with lots of em (ie IG) will be able to suck up their losses and pummel you. Just my thoughts though, dont take them too seriously, I can see you all assume I'm some kind of slow based on the flaming of my list

No problems at all.
You have 5 railguns, 4 of them can be shot at separate targets -3 of them re roll missed hits.
Thats 4 tanks at range. the Commander has a FB that is another tank at close range, the monat has FB so that is another 1 at close range and the XV8 team have 2 but no target lock so that is another tank at range.
Then there is the unit of 3 MP XV8s. so that is another transport at medium range.
so 4 Long range, 1 medium range, 3 close range per turn.
Then if the tanks are not a threat, the Burst cannons on the DF and Both HH ads to anti Infantry and the 2 HUGE pie plates this list pops out is more anti Infantry. then the FW and Kroot.
So other then close combat this army is more then set to deal with IG. Target locks on the XV8 teams might of helped but they are a luxury.
