I'm wondering if Vulkan He'stan is taken and his chapter tactics allow the twin linking of weapons and the dreadnoughts are allowed to replace a multi-melta with a heavy flamer for free does this mean the twin-linked heavy flamers are twin-linked? Or does this do absolutely nothing.(Which is what I'm assuming)

It comes down to one problem, you cannot reroll a reroll. Since you're already twin-linked because of the weapon, you will not be able roll once again for having a second twin-link.

Why are your heavy flamers already twin linked? You have a normal heavy flamer instead of the multi-melta, which becomes twin linked.

Even if you can take two heavy flamers they arent automatically twin linked - you have two heavy flamers.

The Multi-melta replacement is a twin-linked heavy flamer.
The storm bolter replacement is a single heavy flamer.
Separate weapon and arm options.

Thus it is possible with Vulkan, to have a dread with effectively TWO twin-linked heavy flamers.

A regular SM Dread may replace it's Multi-melta with a Twin-linked Heavy Flamer. Doing nothing in a Vulkan list.

Well a heavy flamer is a template weapon so it would be re-rolling a to wound or AP. But even then you can't re-roll a re-roll so I'm guessing it just has no effect then.

TL Template weapons do not re-roll AP.

Well feth me running. Missed that one entirely... probably because it's damn near useless, but still a miss.

I have a dread arm using most of a flamestorm cannon as the twin-linked flamer. The dual fire dread worked pretty good in one game, tore through a single squad of 30 boyz without breaking a sweat.

Will he ever be used again, not likly, but its an option.

To add to this list of great units to use in a Vulkan list, I'm a big fan of the Ironclad Dreadnought. Replacing the Storm Bolter with the Heavy Flamer, you now have a TL Meltagun and a TL Heavy Flamer. Versatility at it's best in the form of a walker. Plus AV 13 on the front and side isn't bad.
