I was wondering what chapter of space marines would be best if I'm looking at using Dreadnoughts. I played tau for a while but got sick of them and I'm looking at trying space marines, if anyone has some suggestions for what a good SM chapter for Dreadnoughts is I would appreciate the advice.

Any specific reasons for them being the best choice for an army using Dreadnoughts?

Iron Hands... Take a Master of the Forge, buff him out, then use a bunch of dreads and venerable dreads as Elites and Heavy Support.

I think BA can take the most dreads. 3 Elites, 3 Heavy Support, and 5 death company dreads... (though it will mean taking 25 death company too). They also have the Furioso librarian dreads, that can use 'wings of sanguineous' (basically jump pack dreadnought), and they have some other cool wargear.

I don't think BA can take ironclad dreads though.

Edit: Though BA dreads can still take ironcladesque extra armour.

A painless alternative would be to add ammonia to bleach in a confined space listening to sad songs and reading a C.S. Goto novel.

Vanilla Marines is the way to go with a dread Spam army, they have the acess to the most widely varied dreadnoughts, as well as though Dreads haveing acess to a wider array of wargear options.

Sadly, the answer is BA. Funny that you would abandon Tau, and go straight to the imperial crisis suit section...

Dark angels have mortis dreadnoughts, basically two of the same guns, preferably autocannons.

Ask yourself: have you rated a gallery image today?

The regular codex has mortis dreadnoughts too.

Just go with the regular codex. MotF on a bike with conversion beamer, 2x units of sniper scouts with camo cloaks to babysit objectives, and 6x dreadnoughts of your choice.

Or go BA of you wanna spam death company/ furiso/ flying librarian cheese dreadnoughts.

I'm stuck fighting against melee that drop in and just cant get enough shots off before my units get shredded. I tried the kroot walls for them, they bought me a turn longer to shoot, but it didn't really help since i couldn't shoot them while they were in melee combat.
