if you miss and you are too far from your target you are really going to suffer thats just me. Drop lists work when you are facing like those large armies that are put close together. But this list will not do well against a well played Eldar and tau player.

Well then Sir, how does one make a Drop pod army that will not suffer against eldar/defldar flying circus and tau?

This is definitely a fun list to use. With all those sternguard veterans, things are going to be dieing left and right. You have to love Hold the Line! rule. One time I saw a person not know what that rule was at a tournament, and the look on his face when his major victory turned into a minor defeat was priceless.I bet this could actually be a competitive list, it just needs some touching up.

I would drop 5 combi-meltas in each squad so you can take a powerfist. This really could give it the CC boost it needs. You could combat squads the turn they come in and have 1 combi-melta squad and 1 powerfist sergeant squad. both are quite formidable and will make your opponent divide his fire if necessary. I think there is a problem with your squad size though. It's one of those things where a squad of 10 is a bit to big and a squad of 5 is a bit to small. I'm not sure how it would work out, but deploy your sqauds right with the appropriate HQ and you'll have some fun there.

Your MoTF is cool because his bolster defenses combined with camo cloaks is giving a scout sqaud 2+ cover saves.

Naturally the weakest part of the list is the scouts. The only useful sniper rifles are eldar pathfinders but that's because how easy it is for them to get AP 1. Theres to many variables to mathhammer this out, but you'll be lucky to kill 1-2 MEQ's each turn. Although you'll lose out on a sergeant and hellfire round heavy bolter, i would take the entire sqaud as just one big sqaud. This way you can adapt to the situation at each game if you want to combat sqaud it.

With everything that you can have combat squadding, and how your opponent won't know which drop pods are coming in, you can really throw you're opponent for a loop, because they just won't know what to do, or what's coming at them.

Your dreadnaughts need extra armor. This is a game changer really. If you take my suggestion with the scout's you'll have an extra 20 points to spend, so you cu;d give 1 extra armor and just make sure that one drops first.

If you ever use this list in a game, you should make a battle report. I'd really like to see how a list like this would work .

Ironclad dreadnoughts have Extra armor and move through cover standard.

Two units of 5x scouts are just to get the compulsory 2 troops while spending the least points doing so (Sternguard are scoring, not troops). They also get a 2+ cover save while sitting on an objective with T4 so they are quite resiliant

Excellent point, I completely forgot all about that, and overlooked extra armor in the iornclad. But I still think the powerfist/combi-melta trade is good though.
