Is it ok to field Lords in less than 2000pt battles? my army book says no, but im wondering if thats an issue between editions.
Also, is it 25% for Lords and Heros, or 25% for each?

As far as I know, in 8th edition it's just percentages- the 2000 point line no longer applies.

Yes, there are no slots. The Army book FAQs delete that requirement, so under 2000 you can still take lords. And if you're goblins, you can probably take 3 or 4 if you're feeling saucy.

Also, it's 25% for lords, 25% for heroes, with no crossover.

On a delicate chain at her throat, she keeps it with her to this day.”

If you look in the FAQs it should tell you that the army selection page is now ignored. It is now simply percentages, no more number per slot based on point size.

why bring up the FAQ when it says what you need to know on Page 134?

top right, very top right, below that knights helmet, there something that helps with particular discussions. everything else is where you already know it is.

or have I missed something?

The FAQs update the rulebooks on what is missing or redundant hence why they are being brought up. As for that little disclaimer on pg 134, it's pretty much the same thing but it's helpful to point players towards the FAQs.

Having the FAQ for your army saying "Ignore page XX" is a lot easier to point people at than the rulebook, in this instance.

In the Webway.

Yup, the FAQ is treated like extra pages of the rulebook.

I guess more for clarification purposes, but it's the errata that are the actual changes to your book and directly tell you to ignore or add to various pages. The FAQ usually clarifies an ambiguous situation instead of rewriting your army book, but sometimes does so via indirectly telling you to ignore clear rules. Thankfully that doesn't happen too often and generally seems to be more of a 40k issue.

You do realise that the PDF you download from the GW website is called an FAQ, that's what we're reffering to
