Hello all, quick question about characters on chariots.

So under the rule for Character Mounts it says Chariot Mounts follow all the rules for characters and chariots as well as all the rules for Ridden Monsters (Except for Monster Reaction). My question is which rule set do you follow with close combat. The Chariot rules say that the Wounds, Toughness and Armour Save of the crew (In this case the character) and the beasts are never used and hits are resolved against the chariot’s Wounds, Toughness and Armour Save. Under the Ridden Monster rules however you are asked to direct your attacks at either mount or rider, in this case chariot or character.

I’m just curious which rule set has precedence, Chariot or Ridden Monsters?

I think they only mean normal crew, as the chariot has a certain amount of wounds and you can't attack mounts or regular riders. If there is a character in there you can choose to attack the character or chariot.
