So making my mind up on selling what i have now, i have decided to start a new army, very small at first and build slowly. But i cannot make my mind up. Dwarfs or Warriors of chaos. So, let me know your thoughts on the two, Have you played either of them? Lost to them? Or simply had a great time playing either one of these two?

Well before I vote, I'm curious as to how you narrowed it down to those 2 armies. If you like them equally (for models, building, painting etc) and are asking which do better game play wise I will say that it will be a wash. WoC and Dwarfs have very different play styles and weaknesses.

Well the dwarfs i enjoy due to simply always enjoying the "dwarf" in any fantasy style game. And i enjoy the hunker down and shoot theme of the dwarves i am seeing. Also the Warriors of Chaos remind me of the old Conan movies i used to watch as a kid. Both play entirely different i understand, i was just curious as to everyone's thoughts, likes and or dislikes was all.

I voted WoC, because I can't stand gunlines. Ultimately its your choice both have great models and are solid choices for 8th edition.

WoC just for the fact most people get upset when they see gun lines. Most people view gun lines as nothing more than a "point and click" style of army, ie: Very little strategy or tactics involved, trying to win the game at list building.
WoC, while still somewhat point and click because their infantry is second to none, they have weaknesses (almost no shooting) and since their strength comes in the combat phase, at least involves some strategies for getting there.

While my vote for dwarfs may seem at firs biased, i'd like to say that i have actually played a few games with WoC. It was during a campaign we played with some friends when they came to visit for the week. It was about a chaos invasion into the empire, and there were too many order players so i borrowed a chaos army.
He had a big army (3500 iirc) and the biggest game size was 2500 so i got to chose most of it. I didn't enjoy playing with WoC as much as orks, simply because there is more tactical flexibilty. With WoC i had to concentrate getting into CC and once i was there all i had to do was charge one thing after the next, roughly speaking. With dwarves you can have a good CC army, a good gunline, a bit of both and include some quiote varied units like gyros and slayers.
This was back in 7th ed. so the play style may have changed slightly, one way i can see that they will have got better is because march blocking has got worse. I remember being constantly harrassed by gyrocopters of the empire's dwarf allies and then just pounded to peices by mortars and great cannons while i plodded 4" across the board with most of my army.
Of course, the main choice is up to you!

Fun Fact: Dwarves have units that aren't War Machines.
I've always like the Dwarves as a fun and characterful heavy infantry close combat army. Unfortunately, GW's Dwarven range is downright bad. The lack of plastic sets is also distrubing.
Go Warriors of Chaos. Best model range in GW, cheap to get a good sized army (2 battalions + sorcers, make a BSB out of the warriors spures), and fun to beat face with.

Warrior of Chaos offers much more flexible tactics and fun conversion opportunities. Dwarves are also quite nerfed in the new edition due to changing the rules for their innate magic resistence, as well as lacking some of the more flavourful stuff (Chaos have Warrior armies, marauder armies, troll and monster armies, and a bunch of colorful characters that will make you squee in joy).

My bias as a Lizardmen player makes me want to say Dwarves. You can have some guns, cannons, and warriors all mixed up.
However, as a lot of people point out, the WoC line is pretty awesome looking...and the dwarves not so much. Also keep in mind, it looks like it might be a while before the dwarves get another release.
Another option though would be to use models from other companies like Avatars of War or Scibor. Those companies make dwarvf models that actually interest me.

Some of the Dwarf stuff is also overpriced. their cannon is absolutely dinky and it still costs 30 bucks. Go for Chaos, much more bang for your buck.

Altho their cannon isn't worth the cash either, but unlike dwarves they don't really need it.

I'm biased towards dwarves. I enjoy thier style, fluff and look. They are not as varied as WoC. Playing my friends WoC is always a challenge. Chaos warrios and Mauraders with flails are just straight up solid units. Backed with very killy combat characters, chaos knights and magic and its a potent army. Dwarves get a bad rap because you can field a lot of war machines. I don't field complete gun lines and remind people that these three war machines over here are my "wizards."

Unless you absolutly love the shooting phase, can live without a magic phase and/or love the fluff go WoC. They have next to no shooting but more than make up for it in Close combat and magic. I know WoC tend to get a bad rap as an army any idiot can play, don't let that sway your decision though. Granted once you get into Close combat with WoC it's pretty much over unless you charge a horde. You can still be tactiful with them though.
