So as I try to finish off my WoC army I have to make a unit of Chaos Ogres and Throgg + Trolls.

I plan to use the plastic river trolls for Throgg and Co. but I'm not sure what you use to make them mutated. I also am debating between using Ogre Bulls or Ironguts leaning towards Bulls simply because I get the entire unit for half the price of the Ironguts.

Also does anyone have ideas on how to scratch build a hellcannon for cheap? I like the GW model but am not willing to pay that much for it.

Hellcannon will be a hard one. Closest I can think of is using a Dragon Head for the cannon's mouth, and gluing zombie heads to the sides of the body (along with some bracing). However you're probably gonna end up with a less satisfactory model for roughly 2/3s of the price. The Hellcannon is indeed a stunning model and I would say would be worth the price.

As for the Chaos Trolls, Buy a box of Spawns and mix and match the pieces. Alternatively, glue extra limbs on the trolls and greenstuff the gaps. Extra limbs and heads = Chaos.

If you go with your Ogres bare, then go with Bulls. Ironguts should be used for Ogres in Chaos Armor. Alternatively just get an Ogre Battalion and kitbash the parts around. Leadbelchers also have some good armor bits.
