2000pts

Snipers hold home objective on capture and control, or combat squad and hold 2 objectives on seize ground getting a 2+ cover save when taking fire (go to ground). Sterguard combat squad in non KP games, and drop in and cause havok on the enemy lines while the rest of the tanks get in position - they will be dead by the end of the game, guaranteed. LRR, 2x vindicators and 2x rhino squads roll forward and crush the enemy. Speeders just do what speeders do.

Pretty similar to the other one, but Libby is present to provide psychic defense/null zone. More speeders but no DS sternguard, and 4 missiles sitting in cover providing fire support.

I would drop the terminators and replace them with Sternguard in a drop pod and place the Librairan attach with them. this could help when you are in a jam against thundercav.

First of all, I am a little biased, but I prefer the first list. The sternguard add such an effect to the army precisely becuase they can be placed anywhere and destroy just about anything. This will change an opponents strategy due to its unpredictability, which already puts you at an advantage.

Second, which unit do you foresee holding the home objective? Given that all of the tactical squads are equiped with Multi-Meltas, they cannot contribute fire at greater than 24 inch range. If you are conducting your strategy properly, you should be well beyond its effective range of 12". At distances greater than 12", the Multi-melta really loses its advantage over the ML and other special weapons. I choose the scouts precisely because they have longer ranged guns, and, as Asherian Command pointed out, they have 2+ cover save when going to ground.

Lastly, the devastator squad is too small and expensive for my likes; they start to lose effectiveness after even one casualty. Either add bodies by getting rid of a speeder or drop them altogether.
