The model just suffers a S 8 hit,do you think this excludes cover saves ?

Do units behind the first effected unit get the cover save.
Yes it is physic shooting attack.

yes...any units behind the first do gain a cover save as you are shooting through other units/terrain

Cover saves are allowed. since it is a shooting attack.

check P.21 in the BRB for the specifics of what cover save you are allowed.

Aside from things that explicitly state they ignore cover saves, you get cover from anything that does damage to your unit.

The one big sort of exception are markerlights. They don't do wounds, so they can't be saved against.

As the others have shown, this is all one needs to ask. It will tell you if one can not take saves
