Was just in GW and was talking about the primaris psyker, the folks in the shop mentioned some people use empire mages and flagellants for sanctioned psykers, was wondering if anyone had (or could point me in the direction of) any conversions or any non standard primaris psyker, thanks.

I'm planning to use Empire flagellants (after a few conversions) as a Psyker battle squad.
I really feel the look of the flagellants really fits the bill.

Fantasy stuff works well as said with flagellants

Maybe for a more sci fi look, use the ugly gasmask heads from WF shock troops or maybe something from pig iron

Although they would probably look funny if they were not chaos I suppose

yeah, a primaris psyker is actually a pretty easy conversion from a LOT of possible options. So long as he's a guy with a staff and has bolts in his head, he can count as a primaris psyker. You could even make him out of regular infantry parts.

Flagellants are your best friend when converting for Imp Guard. Their parts are suitable for both Psykers and Priests as well as penal legion imo. Just give them parts of Cadian armor, and they'll look like officially inducted psykers.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

I built a Primaris Psyker and a ten man psyker battle squad with the Flagellant kit by using a Guardsman as the Overseer. You can use the plain Flagellent kit but adding a few guns and some Imperial Icons can really help it look more 40K than Fantasy.
