What exactly is 40k Rogue Trader. I just found a really old book for it and I've no idea. Is it any different to Regular?

What do you do when the Ruinous Powers give you Lemons? RAM THEM INTO THE ENEMIES EYEBALLS!

I believe it is the father of warhammer 40k, others will have more information.

Ask yourself: have you rated a gallery image today?

Yuo, Rogue Trader was the original GW 40K setting. In some ways it was closer to a role play system writ large. You had a lot more control of the characteristics of each miniature and what they were armed and equipped with.

I still read my copy from time to time as it's the basis for where a lot of the 40K universe fluff comes from.

But the line dividing good and evil cuts through the heart of every human being. And who is willing to destroy a piece of his own heart."

Some of the fluff is incorrect as they've changed a lot of it over the years. But still worth a look at.

Indeed, quite a lot of the fluff has changed since then, much of the current stuff we know and love/despair really started when 2nd edition rolled out.

Rogue Trader is basically 1st edition 40K, we're currently on 5th edition.

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

No no no. The Rogue Trade fluff is correct. It's the other editions that changed it to be wrong

yeah, a lot of the fluff is different to how it is currently, but it still a fun book to see where it all started.

There's also a second Rogue Trader which is much more recent-- a roleplaying game by FFG created with the assistance of GW writers, where you play as an actual Rogue Trader and retinue.

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.
