Hey guys. I recently picked up some of these guys from GHQ, as I am looking to get into 6mm historical gaming, and have run into a problem: How do I paint these?! If anyone has some suggestions, please post them. It would be greatly appreciated.

Misery. Missouri. Who can tell the difference.

With a fine brush and a heavy dose of insanity. Flames of War would be a good scale to start with but the one thing about 6mm is that you don't need to do a bunch of fine detail to make them look good.

Get the smallest brush you can get (like detailing bushes) and probably have some type of object to keep the minis stable. Although I dont have much experience with 6mm

And I was just complaining about what a pain Flames of War stuff was to paint!

Basically though, at that scale you have to cheat. This site got me going with Flames, it should work for you.

You could invest in a helping hand to hold your tiny, tiny guys while you paint them. Basic colors should just about do it for you at that small a scale, and a quick dip would tie all the colors together, methinks.

No pity!
No remorse!
No fear!

When i was painting my epic 40K a few years back, i found washes/dips work really well, especially for flesh. But presuming you'll be painting your guys in that winter camouflage scheme, white and black will be difficult - white requires a very light wash (to stop it turning 'grey'), and you're pretty much stuck with painting black with a teeny tiny brush.
