I'm (probably) starting a Beastmen army, and I want to include a beastlord. I want to convert a model, and need ideas.
Any ideas?

P.S
I have quite basic GS modelling abilities (but not terrible)

Bestigor Champion seems to be a good enough model for a Beastlord model. You can always add additional equipment from the frame, and personally I think it looks better than the Lord.

Maybe it does, but i'm putting my lord in a unit of bestigors, and it would look a bit weird. I might use some of the champ components, ie the hand holding head and big nasty axe though.

The Beastlord seems to have large manes. GS some really long hair should make him stand out. And paint him uniquely to separate him from the unit's champion.

You can also make a weaponswap, bestigors got axes I think? so if you give him a a sword or something else and you could add more armour to him also.
The larger mane is a good idea, that should be enough really, unless you want to go all out on him that is.

There are alot of ways to differintiate between your Lord and Bestigors if you use the champion. You can make him taller by having him stand on something to give him more height. You can add more armor to show that his gear is better then even bestigors and of course a weapon swap. And then you can paint him to look differant then your bestigors to.

I personally really like the beastlord with two hand weapons, but to each his own.

If you want to convert a bestigor champion the first thing I might suggest is take two tairs of the bestigors champion horns and replace the short side horns on one with the long back horns from the other, this would leave you with a nice large sort of horn crown like Gorthor has.

Then I would suggest using a slightly different color sceme, maybe make his armor a little brighter or give it a wash of a different color to make it stand out a bit more, maybe red for a bloodied look, blue for a more mystic look, sepia for a sort of golden look or green for a pesitilent sort of look.

Maybe even paint his horns a slightly different color? though it really depends how much you want him to blend.

One other good way to make him stand out would be to give him a bit more of a scenic base, maybe having him stand atop a defeated foe or perched on top of a fallen log of craggy rocks, this would give him height and definition over his fellow beastmen.

Pretty much but I expanded on it better

Oh and I wanted to add if you're going to do a weapon swap go for a greatsword, it would be awesome to see a beastlord with a great big blade held high over his head in one hand like it was nothing.

I like the model also, but I'd prefer a unique lord. One thing that came to mind when I looked at that model is the studded cloth. I think that, a big mane,a scenic base, a cool paint job and a big nasty axe would look awesome.
