Two questions here. (I just picked up the orksies codex)
I assume the BigMek can't take Mega-armor AND the KFF?
And
Does the KFF still give cover saves while the BigMek is riding in a transport?
thanks!

Not sure about the mega armour....
But the second question is a resounding yes - and gets better! As you measure the force field from the hull of the vehicle, making it even better!

Correct. Does the KFF still give cover saves while the BigMek is riding in a transport?
Yes. Measure to the hull as per page 66 of the rulebook. Edit: Damn Black Templar Ninjas! You have no HONOUR!

Yep, reminds me of the guy who brought a modified battlewagon to a tournament that had 12" hull extensions on either side (weapon turrets). The Mek's KFF ended up covering his entire army as it advanced. It was funny for the first 5 minutes, but the guy was also (surprisingly!) a rules nazi and quickly became the inside joke of the tournament. Good for him, I think he won Best General or something.

That's the thing, if you play the KFF correctly, you pretty much eliminate one of the orks biggest weaknesses.

The kff grants everyone BS4?
And in case it was in question OP, no it doesn't give cover saves to your opponent. Check the BrB faq.

How is that not clearly breaking the rules by "modeling for the advantage"?
I'm all for Orks being Orky, but that's awful.

1) I don't know that ork Shooting really is a disadvantage. Sure, their BS is bad, but they get a LOT of shots.
That's opinion, though, so I have no desire to argue that.
2) How does this work:
Yep, reminds me of the guy who brought a modified battlewagon to a tournament that had 12" hull extensions on either side (weapon turrets).
A turret is not a part of the hull, and you are supposed to measure from the hull.
Simply tell the guy no.
