I'm pretty cheap, and paying 25 dollars for a single model seems excessive... Especially when I could want 2-6 of them!

So I was wondering if Dakka had any ideas/suggestions. I came up with 2 ideas myself, and was curious if you had any suggestions to make the ideas work:

1) Convert from plastic cold ones
2) Convert from one of those real cheap plastic crocodiles - the sort you could find at the dollar store, for example.

Any ideas on how to make either of those ideas work, or any other suggestions ideas?

Try those Plastic Dinosaur packs. They seem to be more of the Salamander size and shape, especially the Spinosaurus. You can then GS on a few scales and voila, cheap Salamanders

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

When I'm editing alot, you know I have a gakload of homework to (not) do.
