Hey all,

I am a 29 yo father of 4 with love of miniature wargaming. The best part is that I have a wife who is actualy supportive of my desire to get into the hobby. Right now I haven't settled on a particular game. I've been looking at Hordes, WHFB, 40K, and Ex Illis. I also love making terrain. I don't think that I'm especially good at it, but I enjoy it. I'm more into the story and social gaming aspect of the hobby at the moment.

I am a father of 2 and find painting after bedtime from around 8pm every so often is about the best you can hope for so I would recommend against going for 4 game systems because you will never get them all painted!

40k is my thing however I would recommend reading the black library books on warhammer too because you may prefer that

As for game systems I would recommend 40k and Hordes.

40K because you sound like a very creative person and 40k/WHFB encourages that as long as you follow WYSIWYG and hordes is alot of fun as well.

Welcome! Are you in Northeast TX? Im in the DFW area, too bad you dont live in this neck of the woods. I am 27 with a daughter, so I think we could relate. Although you must be some sort of superman with 4 kids and still find time for a hobby!

Wow, I step away from the computer for a few days and I get all kinds of replies. Thanks for the warm welcome. And yes, Loricatus, bedtime into the early morning is probably my most productive time. My 3 oldest make it hard to get things done when they are around. Its manily because they're so curious about the little grey men with swords and guns. And Element206, I'm definately not superman. My body has just adapted to getting around 4 hours of sleep a night. And I also have a supportive wife who wants me to get out and do stuff. I currently don't have anything that could be considered a hobby. Though I'll probably have to limit it to 1 good day of gaming a month if I have to drive very far to do it.
