I heard a lot of things, like a freaking huge spider or things like that.

So... you know any rumors or news about my two favorite fantasy armies?

I hope that at least ogres have some armor so they don't die if they are charged by horsemen with lance.

However, I guess it might be about time to have a thread about this release, so I'm going to move this to WFB general.

The orc and Goblin army book is out early -- quarter 1 -- next year. A bold new direction will follow..perhaps.

The releases will include a LARGE plastic spider kit -- it's a beauty ... apparently...

. This is called an "Arachnarok". It can be taken as a mount for some of the characters and is a unit in its own right too.

Savage orcs will, perhaps, play a larger role in the book, or at least will be a viable option for people.

Ogre players will have, it seems, a bit of a wait yet I am afraid. I think there are ( at least) two army books ( one being the orcs and goblins book) before them.

Well, thanks anyway. Let's see if they pease me with new things, or at least something as cool as the big spider for orcs.

Oh, and for me Savage orcs always have a good plan on my army. Put them in a large number and with two weapons and if they resist and get in combat, they are freaking beautifull, so any upgrade of that will make me happy

The Ogre Stronghold is the main WHF Ogres forum. If theres any news its there.

The new WHFB rule book made life easier for the Ogres (from what iv heard) so no new codex isnt a surprise to me.

Also, some new Nurgle Ogres from FW...

Those Nurgle ogres look like they would work nicely in as Daemons/40k Daemons as well - if they are big enough, would make good greater summoned daemons.

Those look like maybe standard base sizes though.

It's not.

I'm thinking those, indeed ogres in general, might work well for some of the DE monsters.

Those nuggle ogres are serious candidates to be added to my meneaters, but they look freaking expensive.

Here a current rumour summary by Ney from Warseer, last updated 31st October:

Book seems slated for a Feb/March release, written by Jeremy Vetock and apparently already done! (strongly hinted at by hastings and harry, and also seems in line with the known release schedule).And we're back to not February, seems like its March again, thanks to Harry.

We keep all current SC(that includes Grom in his chariot!) and get Wurzzag and two goblin characters both heroes one of which is a forrest gobling for a totalt of 15 lord choices and 11 hero choices!

We get a new model, the Arachnarok spider. It can be takes as a mount for a common gobling great shaman, or it can be a rare choice. As a rare choice it will have options for some warmachine thingie or other special rule in that regard.

Common goblins will get some sort of a unit upgrade. hastings hinted at something that has two handweapons but is not an assasin. (I am still a bit unclear whether the upgrade is the new Special Char or a seperate upgrade like the DE assasin)

(Common) Goblin characters will be able to ride Giant and Gigantic spiders, so an all spider army should be viable (hastings).

Also we are getting another new unit besides the Arachnarok, though it is unclear what it is at the moment.

We get some new plastics, so far people agree on we get 5 sets:
Besides the spider, the best bets so far are Savage Orcs incl boars, with the remaining two to be named. One which could be the new as of yet missing unit.

Things we do not get:
Orcs do NOT get devestating charge (hastings).
Hobgoblins.
Common forrest goblins (on foot).
Orc Idols and some huge cave beast (though we might hope Warhammer Forge may come up with something nice, eh? But nothing is in the pipelines just yet according to people that talked to them at Games Day UK).

Skirmishing giant spider riders

What about new goblins and wolf riders? The current ones are nice, but far too large, and do not match the night or forest goblins.

I saw that post by Ney, I've been following it, and the one posted before it over there. Only problem is, there hasn't been much in the way of rumors, seeing as the book is still around 3 months off...I need updates!

What they really need is a plastic rock lobba that metal one I hear is a pain to build I was thinking about building one out of balsa or bass wood but it would be nice to have a plastic one.
