Hey guys

Looking for some help here.

What models do people use to represent the Daemon Heralds in 40K as there is no dedicated model?

I must also say that i would really really prefer complete models, my talents and budget just about stretch to an odd arms swap on models, no major conversion!

Thanks

Dom

I use some OOP models from the Realm of Chaos period. (the fly-headed sorceror of Nurgle for example)

I play a khorne fantasy army and for my herald I just mounted a bloodletter on the back of a juggernaut, modded the sword and gave him the bloodreaper champion head from the box set.

What herald are you looking to make, Nurlge, Khorne, etc.?

Also Forgeworld makes that awesome DP with herald.

If you're doing a Nurgle herald I'd advise you to buy some green stuff and start playing with it. Nurgle stuff is one of the easiest things to make with green stuff.

I'm looking definatly Khorne and Tzeentch, possibley the other two at a later date.

The only problem i have with the FW ones, is i'm drawn to the soul grinder, and don't particularly like the daemon princes, can't say what it is, but they are a unit that doesn't really capture my imagination, so its a lot of money for a model i dont really want

Dom

Edit: @linked
I've never used green stuff, have no artistic capabillity and tbh neither the time, money or patience to learn, otherwise that would be a great suggestion

I use generic plastic lesser daemons for the heralds, giving them just a tad bit special things (like maybe some chains for a Khorne Herald and more arms to the Tzeentch herald). Skulltaker is great for a Khorne Herald with Iron Hide.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

for my herald of Khorne I used a regular bloodletter with the champion head from the sprue, added some shoulder armor and a tabard. also put him on a taller base then the other models so he would stand out just a little more.

take a look.
